That's amazing! My mum's cat went missing for about 8 weeks and then just trotted back in and looked at everyone as if to say 'What?' - we thought that was a long time!
  • Oh, that is incredible, :T CONGRATULATIONS!! :T - and I have to say I fully agree wth your point aboit microchipping - I think it is safe to say that without one she would never have been identifiable and been returned to you!!
Yes, how important a microchip is £15 well spent, i am just so over the moon.

What a lovely story! We had a stray tabby turn up in our garden about 5 years ago. I fed him for a few days then he came indoors and made himself at home. I took him to a vets to check for microchips but no luck. I advertised everywhere, put posters up,left details with animal charities but no one ever claimed him. Shame, he's a lovely boy- and now he IS microchipped!
    Debt-free...and staying that way...

This is great news, I'm so pleased for you all.
It also gives me hope, as my tabby Billy (also microchipped) went missing last easter. OH lost him when he had him at the vets (escaped from his carrier) vets is 4 miles from home, so the cat doesnt know the area, we were there morning noon and nightfor well over a month with no luck. Christmas without him was horrible, as we got him and his brother 4 years ago the week before christmas, so should have been celebrating this not worrying over where he is. He was originally a ferral, and was quite wild when we got him, I was the only one who could pick him up, cant see him allowing anyone to 'adopt' him, so maybe he will turn up one of these days, sorry if I'm hijacking your thread, dont mean to.
Thanks for sharing this, I bet your kids thought it was christmas all over again.

:A Wow, great story. Like others have said, a card to the kind woman who brought your cat in would be nice - if it hadn't been for her (and the micro-chip) then who knows what may have happened. But it hasn't and your cat is back, maybe contact the Microchip people - they may like to include your story on their website!

Make sure you worm the cat too and try and get all the injections up to date (if not already). Your vet may also sell some specialist cat food which is high calorie/ high nutrition to help things along.

    Great story.
