Thanks to all for your good thoughts for my mum. I spoke to her today and she's almost been able to get up out of bed on her own, which is fantastic.

Just wanted to say that I used to have a lodger, about 5 years ago, and even tehn I charged her £350 a month, bills included (but not phone). No food included (she did her own. You can earn up to about £350 a month as income from lodgers before you have to declare to the tax man (have a look on govt website, could be more now) which is important to know. We are in London, but that was a perfectly reasonable rent then. Presume the lodgers get to use all the communal rooms?

I am nearly off to my Taebo class. I know it is going to be an hour of torture as haven't done it for over a year . The only plus sides are that it is a great workout and more importantly the instructor is very yummy and he has a great body:D Must remember to claim my New Year hug from him :D

  • Oh my god, I just did another great thing - (I hope my enthusiasm lasts!) I rang my credit card companies and jiggled some of the debts around and got a 0% deal for 6 months on £4k of it (with decision pending on another £3k tomorrow morning) - when I updated my snowball with the 0% deals it took FOUR MONTHS off my dfd!!!

Now, I know the deal is only for 6months but hopefully the card I transferred away from will now offer me a 0% or really low life of balance once by the end of these deals (that's what usually happens).

I'm so happy right now - just needed to share :-)
