Hello all!
My plan is to use it up, eat more healthily and try to lose weight!
So to aid this quest here's the meals for this week (I shop on a Saturday so it's only up until then).....
Sunday - Turkey, roasties, peas and carrots all in a giant yorkshire pudding (veggie sausages for me!)
Monday - HM veggie 5 bean chilli, grated cheese on top
Tuesday - Jacket spud and beans and cheese (OH playing footie if he recovers from man flu) Edited to say he still has man flu and is off food so I'm using up a quorn escalope from the freezer and some salad in the fridge for tea
Wed - Lentil dahl curry and rice (need to find recipe so if anyone has one I'd be grateful!) Chicken curry from freezer for OH
Thurs - HM veggie 5 bean chilli
Fri - Fishfingers, beans and homemade wedges
Good luck everyone!0 -

Hi Everyone
Fairly new to this but have had enough of never knowing what's for dinner and ending up with a takeaway. This was costing us approximately £80-£100 per month  so have decided to put away £20 away each week to save up for something nice! Spending that much is shameful when I read that some of you can feed yourselves for a month with that amount.
Have also decided that as DS1 and DS2 are both teenagers they can choose to eat what's put down to them or go hungry. I'm not a bad cook so there's no need for them to be repelled by anythingThey've just been pandered to for way too long!
Anyway here goes (with what's in the cupboards, ff and a small amount of shopping):
Monday - Roast chicken dinner, Trifle
Tuesday - HM soup, Beef casserole, potatoes, carrots & peas
Wednesday - Chicken curry (with lo chicken from Mon), rice & poppadoms
Thursday - Macaroni Cheese, chips & peas
Friday - Gammon (Nigella's Ham-in-Coke?), potatoes, carrots & peas
Saturday - Lunch: cheese and gammon toasties
Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese, garlic bread
Sunday - Brunch: Cooked breakfast - bacon, sausages, egg, etc.
Dinner: Chilli (with lo mince from Sat), rice
Plenty of stuff in for breakfasts and packed lunches.
Wasn't too painful - hopefully with all the great ideas from these forums I'll be able to keep this up. Next week, I'll be looking to hide more veggies in meals and to shop more economically too!
Hugs

Hi, I havent done this for ages, but here goes,
Mon, homemade lentil and veg soup
Tues, tuna and pasta salad
Wed, chicken breasts and savoury rice
Thurs, pasta and whatever sauce the family ask for as some like creamy cheese ones, others have tomato based
Fri, fish and chips (oven baked not chippy)
I'm trying to loose some weight, as I've put on 6lb over christmas, so breakfasts will be cereal for everyone, oh takes his main meal to work as he does 3x12 hour nightshifts, kids take packed lunch to school/college, and snacks are now fruit or yogurt instead of crisps or mince tarts/christmas cake :rotfl:
We usually do our shopping early saturday morning, so will post again maybe friday evening when the shopping lists done. Its interesting seeing what everyone else is having, as I've got stuck in a terrible rut mealwise, and when I ask the family what they want, they never know
