Maybe it's only been triggered recently then, it said that Linton on Ouse had been triggered once. Seems strange that it'd be now when we had all that snow and ice before xmas though!

    Hi folks

Regarding my post above, my hubby rang them back again yesterday, spoken to someone else, who again confirms we are entitled to this.
And they state there has been a few payments made of CWP to people since he started claiming JSA in early Dec 2008, we have a son with autism who is 13 with the eligible benefit as well.

They are now supposed to be looking into this as no payments has been paid out to us yet, and getting back to us Monday afternoon.;)
I will post up to let you know, cheers.x

  • Place me firmly in the "disgusted" group. I also have a child on DLA, I am his carer BUT his Daddy also works so therefore we aren't entitled. My hubby doesn't earn a great deal and our heating is on 24/7 as our son has a heart condition and really feels the cold. Visitors to our house often comment on how warm it is and our son can still be complaining he is cold. There are only so many layers you can put on a child.

Is there any way to find out the dates that triggered the payment as i'm going to give DWP a call on Mon?

    Hiya hun
    Bless you.

I agree with you hun, your child is still classed as having a health problem/disability then and they should really take all this into account.

Exactly there is only so many layers you can put on a child.
And its extremely expensive to have the heating on all the time, which is not giving any of us any choice, but your poor lad, bless, it must be difficult for you.x

Might be worth ringing the weather station itself to get confirmation and then ring the jobcentre?
