Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin!"

I get so tired when I think of how my weight has dictated how I feel about myself for my entire life and continues to do so. Even when I weighed 8 stone 3 I thought I was overweight and would not go out as I felt too fat! I honestly don't know what the answer is to this dilemna but you can see why we turn to food as whatever we weigh, it just does not seem to be "right". You are not alone that is for sure.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

I've had my 15 day weigh in from the journal ( so 20 days in all) and I have lost 7lb! I'm really happy with that. I know I probably could have lost more with weightwatchers but I also know that I would have been counting points, not eating what I wanted etc. I really think filling in the journal helps purely because I'm seeing it as a 90 day task. When this journal is finished I intend to buy another one, still a lot cheaper than WW. I've roughly been counting up calories at the end of the day just out of interest and I reckon I'm usually having about 1500 so that's why it's working I suppose.
Had a big lunch today though, was out with friends and you just don't notice your food then, do you? Having said that i'm not at all hungry now so may well not eat anything else today....
Hope everyone else is getting on okay?0 -
I've found you! Finally someone to talk about Paul McKenna with. I've got neck and back problems and I can't exercise. I've been following the book intermittently and have been using the journal at the back of the book. After a few days I bought the 90 day one and am waiting for it come.
I've lost a bit of weight, how much I don't know because I don't have scales, but my trousers that usually hung off me before my accident, was too tight a few months ago are starting to get a bit loose again.
**Edit to add** I got my journal from Play.com marketplace for £3.65, with a couple of pence knocked off for going through quidcoGetting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
welcome, Guapa! I didn't have a good day yesterday. I had a really nasty fall the night before and felt totally out of it yesterday so just ate whatever came to hand whenever, I'm trying to be better today.....0

Thanks for the welcome Minty, hope you're feeling better now.
My journal turned up today, had a flick through and it looks alright. Looking forward to starting it tomorrow. I decided to do it in pencil so I can do it again another time. lol
I'm PMTing and it's funny, I can now tell what is a craving instead of hunger. I still gave in to it though! Tomorrow is a new day and I'm not going to let a setback take me away from my ultimate goal.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
A little update from me. Well I only lost ½lb week before last but this past week I have dropped 3lb although I was poorly in week and didn't eat for over a day so that is probably why. Still all recovered now and hopefully be getting back on track.
Hope you are all doing well.
Mintymoneysaver hope you have recovered from your fall now. Some of your posts have really made me laugh about what you are eating like post 485 above. Hope you are back on track too now.
And Chezzabelle hope you are feeling more positive now. I find myself I tend to take the basics of the McKenna system and then work it to suit myself. For instance I stick to regular meal times rather than waiting to eat until I am hungry as that is a bit hard to fit into normal life but I try to do the slow conscious eating bit and exercise more etc. athough for me that is walking and exercise DVD at weekend rather than going to gym or anything organised."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -
thanks SS! I'm now fully recovered from my fall though I had a thumping headache for a good few days afterwards! Have managed to get back on track fairly easily, another week to my next weigh in but I have got on a pair of trousers today that I haven't worn in a while so feeling good....Hope everyone else is getting on okay?
Just realised Honey39 hasn't been on here in over a month, she must be at the end of her 90 days now. Wonder how she got on?0 -
Don't know if I'm by myself here now, but just had my 30 day weigh in and had lost another 2lb, so 9lb in 30 days. I'm pretty happy with that as I really haven't done without anything!0

Hi everyone.
Im starting a sponsored slim on Monday. I plan to use my CD and listen to it as much as I can. Im going to cut down on portion size and use mostly PMs techniques. Its not a diet but eating a bit more healthily. So I could do with a bit of encouragement as its for a really good cause. Planned to walk a bit more but have a sore foot at the moment.0 -
Good luck Boddy, that is brave of you being sponsored to slim but hopefully I guess it should motivate you too because everyone will be asking how you are getting on.
Unfortunately I put on a lb this week but not really surprised as ate too much (cakes at work again!) at start of week and didn't do enough exercise but been getting back on track these past few days.
Today I did lots of walking and exercise video this evening. Felt very motivated today though after going shopping and managing to squeeze myself into size 12 trousers! I was size 16 just a few months ago so I'm amazed at that. OK I know everywhere sizes are cut different (these are good old BHS) and they are a snug fit but not uncomfortable. I was getting fed up with my old trousers being so loose. I am well happy now.
Very well done to MintyMoneySaver - that is brilliant result. Keep up the good work.
I have wondered how Honey39 is doing too - hope you will pop in and give us an update if you are reading H39."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0
