Hey Snow White - welcome to the thread.
Regarding breakfast I am a SAHM/Childminder so I can pretty much eat what I want. Really the only solution is to get up a little bit earlier so you are not rushing. I know you say you can't but in reality if this was only 10 mins earlier it would still help.
I am up between 5.30am and 6am most days but never feel like eating until 8am onwards so if you're like me you're going find it hard...
Day Three for me. Not too bad actually. Was so busy with the kids being out and about I didn't have the time or the inclination to eat to perk myself up. Had chili and rice for tea and garlic bread. Left a good 2/3rds of the rice, although I confess I still can't sit and do nothing whilst I eat
Just had a hot chocolate drink so feel nicely satisfied as the temperature has dropped quite a bit since earlier in the day.
Might head off to bed early and listen to the CD so I don't actually fall asleep and pay no attention :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning All,
Haven't posted for a while as I've been away with work, but have been keeping up to date with everyone's comings and goings!
Welcome to the group, Snow White!
Well, things haven't been going too well for me for the last few days/weeks... even though PMK seems a far healthier way to lose weight than most diets, I think I had kidded myself I didn't need to try/stay dedicated... but that's just not true.
There are some aspects of it that I am still doing, which I think are embedded in my routine now, like writing the diary, listening to the CD and drinking water etc. But I really struggle to eat consciously at every meal.
I think part of the problem is that I often have to eat lunch at my desk, or on the run, and I can't give it the attention it deserves. For me, it's also a harder psychological barrier to eat only 2/3 of a baguette or pre-packaged lunch, rather than a dollop less of mashed potato at dinner... I think it comes down to the visual aspect of looking at something that is clearly supposed to be "one portion". It just feels 'wrong' somehow.
Each time I have a 'RIGHT, I'm really going to concentrate on this from now on' moment, it gets washed away by the general hullaballoo of life... and last time I weighed myself, I'd put on a lb. I'm going away for the weekend at the start of October and I'd really LOVE to have lost a bit more weight by then... just can't seem to get the loss going.
How is everyone else getting on? Has anyone been doing this for weeks and weeks and consistently lost weight throughout?
Even if I'm not losing tonnes of weight, the one major benefit I have really noticed is that I'm not beating myself up as much about stuff... I am a total perfectionist, and usually I'd be berating myself for 'failing' all the time... but I have definitely noticed a more positive attitude - and I definitely think part of that has come from PMK :T
Wishing you all healthy eats and lots of fun today... hope the sun is shining with you, too :j

Good post Chezabelle. I know exactly what you mean but in my case say 50% of the time I could focus on what I am eating as I am at home. But I don't, because I find it boring
I also know where you are coming from regarding not eating a whole baguette etc. To me that's a whole portion and not something I could throw away half of (especially when I have bought and paid for it). I have saved half of one before now and eaten the rest the following dayI am too MSE to chuck away leftovers these days.
I think I've been complacent about the fact that I have to make the effort and work at it - otherwise my usual habits come back to the fore. I have no idea how long it takes for new habits to establish but I think I am not being realistic enough about that. Its going to take time but like most people I want instant results and that's never going to happen
Plus I do tend to expect to change everything all at once which I don't think helps. I am trying to make life changes all in one go rather small changes gradually. Perhaps I should just focus on one aspect, eating consciously and go from there.........?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I'm back again. Given myself a bit of a fright this week as I've had a sore shoulder and the pain started to go into my chest. Was convincing myself it was angina, but it's actually a frozen shoulder! Gave me a bit of a wake up call though as i'm very overweight. I also have my mum's 70th in December to get a bit slimmer for. So I'm listening to the CD again when I've finished on here and I've ordered the journal from amazon. As someone else on here said I can give it 90 days of my life which will take me to the week before my mum's birthday and hoopefully by then it will be ingrained and I'll want to carry on! I know it works, it's just getting out of those old habits.0

Hi All, well I am sitting here with a big grin on my face because when I weighed myself this morning, not only had I gone down 2½ lbs this week but since I started I have now lost just over a stone. This has been a very gradual process for me, on average I have only lost 1lb a week but sometimes I haven't lost any or I've gone up a lb or so. I have had lots of times when I have wondered if I was actually getting anywhere but obviously it is working. I can definitely feel my clothes are looser and I have lots more energy. Best of all for me I tried some jeans on this week that I haven't been able to get into for ages and I got into them no problem. In fact I am wearing them now to celebrate!
So for everyone who is struggling I hope this will encourage you to keep going even with small steps because those small steps do add up.
Personally I still rush breakfast but I do try to eat my lunch and dinner slowly and consciously. I used to play cards on the computer at work while I ate lunch and never noticed what I was eating and still felt hungry but now I just have the radio on, try to concentrate and I have been able to cut down what I eat and not feel hungry afterwards. At dinner I used to read and have telly on. Now we still have TV on but I have stopped reading and again try to eat slowly and concentrate. As per BB I struggle to leave anything but I have tried to cut down portions and I don't feel hungry afterwards.
I am drinking more water (some days anyway) and not eating unnecessary extras. We had cakes at work twice this week and I didn't even want any. I did think shall I just have one but then I had PMK's voice in my head saying: What do I really want? Same thing happened last week when I had a fancy for chocolate there was PMK in my head again so in the end I didn't have any!
I really do think the CD is a big help in reprogramming me subconsciously and also making me feel more positive and happy generally. Good luck everyone."Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence": Desiderata0 -

Well good morning everyone. I bought the book last week and listened to it last night in bed on my Ipod. Was a bit freaked out by the voices saying different things in each ear but might get used to it. Is the book different to what is on the Cd please? Do I need to read the book first? Going to try hard today to make changes. Dh thinks I'm nuts and that the Cd will just say 'eat less, do more' so I have to prove him wrong!True MSE'r -Money Spending Expert0

Jungliemac - the book is more indepth whereas the CD is aiming to help reprogramme the unconscious mind. The book has useful exercises in it to help you overcome cravings, improve self esteem etc.
Just read the book in conjunction with listening to the CD.

Hi everyone,
Glad you're all doing well. It's good to see how other people are coping with teh programme.
Day 8 for me now and I'm feeling ok. I've been getting up a bit earlier as Bitsybeans suggested and it's made it easier to eat breakfast without having to wolf it down.
I've listened to the CD every day (does anyone else find it makes them really groggy though?) and browsed through the book. I still find it hard to eat consciously, especially at work when I only have a short break. Eating slowly does make the food taste better, though.
Occasionally I've ignored the rules on purpose beacuse I feel rebellious. Does anyone else do that?
All in all I think I need to work more at the eating, but my exercising is going really well, I'm walking about 4 miles a day plus doing weight sessions at the gym a few times a week. Normally I'm exhausted on a Monday but today I was practically skipping to the gym after work. :j
It's too early to notice any weight loss yet (I go by the fit of my clothes as scales just make me obsess about the numbers).
I hope you all have a good week!

PS Is it worth buying the journal?0 -

If I do anything it's self sabotageFind it hard to resist sweet things so I bake my own  Its like asking for trouble........but baking gives me pleasure and I like eating home made stuff rather than shop bought.
Still finding it hard, I just want to eat and eat
