grrr - I really bummed out yesterday! I didnt manage to even do Level 1 but I did get home at 7pm, made dinner from scratch then made soup in the slow cooker for tonight, then made egg and cress for my work lunch sarnies and tidied up the dry clothing and even did all my hand washing... I will probably catch up on yesterdays chores tonight and hopefully do tonights as well!Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

Pigpen, I tried staying awake all day and it has not worked. I tried having herbal tea before bed and it did not work. I have been like this for well over a week now and it is driving me crazy. This morning I was trying to get my DD ready for school and I kept falling asleep she had to keep waking me up. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0

At work at the moment but thought I'd take a break and catch up wih you all. Isn't it COLD???!!!!! I had to go into town this morning to do the banking and when I got to the car park barrier, I couldn't get the car window to open
. So I opened the door and leaned round to press the button and get the ticket. Parked car in a sunny spot, hoping it would defrost the window mechanism by the time I got back - no such luck!
Bathrooms look immaculate after yesterday evening's efforts LOL! Now for Tuesday when I get back from work.................
Tuesday - tinklings
Level One
[strike]Clear and wipe kitchen worksurfaces[/strike] Did before I left this morning
Sweep the floor!
Level Two
Mop the floor
Wipe the table and dining chairs
Muck out the fridge
Level Three
[strike]
Empty the under the sink cupboard.. give it a wipe out and put back neatly the things you NEED.. get rid of or rehome the rest!
[/strike] Must be a mind reader, 'cos I did this on Sunday in preparation for DH installing new sink
[strike]
S&S over all the unit fronts and appliances
[/strike] I'm doing this every couple of days at the moment - can you tell I'm really proud of my lovely, newly "hand-painted" kitchen? We "recycled" the kitchen by painting the doors and carcase frames in a close match to Farrow & Ball "Cooking Apple Green", and we've retiled, installed wainscotting and a new hob and I am SOOO proud of what we have achieved so far that I'm practically dragging folk in off the street to show it off!
Twelfth Night tonight so the decorations will come down this evening - we always try to make this fun, as I hate to pack it all away for another year, so we have some mulled wine ready to go and the last two mince pies. Then the diet can start LOL!
Obedient women are never remembered in History!

Ok I have a clothes question. I am really struggling with clothes in our bedroom. At the moment I have 2 short 4' rails and 1 long 1.5' rail for clothes, 2 deep drawers under one of the 4' rails and in between a chest of 3 deep drawers. Now does that sound enough for clothes for 2 of us? I'm finding that I'll put stuff in the drawers and they never see the light of day again, or someone will grab something and forget to put the stuff back into the drawers. I'm sure I don't have that many clothes but I just can't seem to organise my wardrobes!
Any ideas? I'm really struggling! One thought I did have was to put summer stuff in boxes under the bed for now. I really want to vacuum my bedroom floor  BTW this does have something to do with my kitchen as once it's done it'll free up a load of space in the kitchen as I can move the boxes filled with clothes!Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Recyling, is there any point at the moment. My dad was saying that it is being stockpiled in a warehouse as the price has dropped. He said that there is a chance that it could end up on a land fill site.
I know here that glass is used in building - it's ground down and used in the mortar or something like that, which is why we don't have separate banks for different coloured glass.
Thinks like food tins and other non-aluminium metals are collected by Manx Metals who sell it as scrap metal. What happens after that I'm not sure.
Paper I'm not sure about - I always thought is was recycled into things like newsprint and loo rolls
We don't have landfill here anymore. A few years ago the government built a huge incinerator (far too big for the island) so all normal rubbish ends up there. They had to go and dig up the landfill areas to keep it going at one stage, so I suppose that's one positive - no landfill sites!
Garden cuttings etc are converted into compost which is given away to any gardeners who want it.0 -
Hi peeps. Well i am azmazed myself today - don't know what's gotten into me!
Sent 2 kids off to school - me and a friend take turns each week to car pool
Then instead of slobbing on the sofa as i normally do, got the wii fit out - 28 mins!
S&S the bathroom and sorted the laundry basket - have put two canvas bags in there with the intention of putting coloured and white in appropriate bag - hmmmm lets see how we go with that one....
Tackled a couple of hot spots - top of the toy cupboards - rearranged the area so bigger toys go into a toy tub and the other well known hot spot is under the stairs - had a mini tidy there, e.g. putting fan in the loft as we didn't use it inthe summer. Cleared the space around my excercise bike so i can start using the thing.
Put a wash on and put away yesterdays clothes which dried last nite on the radiators
Am fasting today so don't need to worry about lunch -DD is having waffles with tuna - Dinner is grilled fish, veg and rice for all of us.
Someone stop me! Am getting in the shower now, then will feed DD and may even get the rug out of the loft and scrub it before putting it down again - laminate floor toooooo cold.
Have a brill day everyone0 -
Lucky you.. I used to get hit with a shoe, or a belt, or a hairbrush.. or worse!
I know what I forgot to tell you lot last night... This term at college we are studying.. pregnancy, birth and life stages... *yawn* guess who will be bored witless by half term!
My mum had such a perfect aim, she took off her slipper and threw it, they flew around corners:D, and if we were being especially horrid we got a slipper sandwich!!......If I were to do that my kids would be screaming child cruelty/abuse whilst i would be shouting, parent abuse, chasing them with the phone saying ring them;) Ds1 is forever saying freedom of speech, im forever saying shut up!!!:jIm going to be frugal:j:DIm going to be frugal:D;)Im going to be frugal;)Beetlejuice Beetlejuice...................:rotfl:0 -

Do you own many full length clothes? If not you could either put 2 rails in one wardrobe (one above the other) or put a couple of shelve sin the bottom of a wardrobe (underneath the hanging clothes).Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0
