I second what Soappie says toots. You said it so much better than me Soappie... :T

Can I just share something with you all. I am so, so, so, so, so proud of my daughter. She's a bright little thing (not so little now she's 9) but has always been quite shy and quiet. For this reason she's gradually suffered at school because she doesn't mess around and has tended to be ignored. This year she has a new teacher who, at parent's evening, said to us that she's very worried our DD will slip through the net because she's so quiet. She said she was making it her mission to make sure that our DD was no longer just below average but with the brighter children where she should be. DD has just told us that she's been moved up a group in Maths and into all the top groups in every other subject. I am so, so, so proud of her for starting to open up in class and i'm so pleased she has an amazing teacher who's made it possible for her reach her full potential. Ok, i'll stop gushing now! xx

Congrats Mudbath to you, your DD's teacher and mainly your DD - well done and gush away, it's a wonderful feeling eh!... :T :T :T :T :T

The rest of the room
And no, I don't just leave drawers open, they've collapsed inside so can't open or close any further.
But will certainly require some work tomorrow, possibly a good thing that OH isn't working, I may be able to clean in peace

only one child soappie, the cream rug was not saveable and the walls get repainted every 18 months or so(OH is a carpenter so has friends in most trades!!), oh and the cream leather sofa and chairs are due to be replaced by black fabric(am quite nervous about the black now though, hoping it will be ok, with all the cream it should be)

I'm back, by the way, and feeling a lot better than I did earlier. Thank you to whoever has been thanking my unthanked posts while I've been away.

Well that's you busy!!! I'm way too OCD to be able to cope with 'the rest of the room' - I can't settle if anything is out of place - DH hates me - I follow him round and straighten things up - like when he unloads the DW (not very often), I open all the cupboards and rearrange everything - all the mugs have to have the handles facing the same way (I do the same with the dirty stuff in the DW too!). Luckily, he works away all week (LAPT!), so we only have to cope with it at weekends - DS (who's home most evenings), is almost as bad as me - daren't go in his room - wardrobe all organised and colour coordinated, bed made to within an inch of its' life, absolutely NOTHING on any surface - they make us quite weird in rural Staffordshire!
