    Hi all

I really want to join in but find it so hard to keep up with you all. There is so much chat they I can't hope to keep up and then feel quilty if I can't respond to someone. What do others do who want to 'fly ' but can't keep up with it all?

I don't , I try when I can but when I've been to work for the day I really couldn't spend 3 hours catching up, so I try to read the last page or so to catch up on most of the gossip.

There are TWO great things about this thread
One is to get your house in order - you can do that with the list on page one and you need nothing else,
The other is the friendship and comradely - no-one on here minds at all if you don't answer their posts, there is always someone that will, and if they need to speak to you, they will PM you.

The whole point is to get yourself sorted out - not feel guilty for not responding to a post. Pop in and out when you can and laugh, cry, moan and generally avoid flying with us whenever you feel like it... HTH... ;) :A

    SHINY SINK :j

Not only did I wash up, I DRIED THE DISHES!!
I usually allow nature to take it's course on them but I decided the sink does not look shiny when covered in - even clean - dishes. I also cleaned the steel drainer thing, don't know how it got so dirty underneath!
    S&S'd the kitchen.
    Cleaned the grill pan!
    Made a coffee ;)

    Evening all

I've felt so much better today so have been trying to get a bit more on top of things.

Decs all down except for the tree
Done a meal plan and food shop for the week
Cleaned most of the bathroom (that's a result seeing the list for tomorrow)
    Been to visit Nan
    Cleared my ironing
    done 2 WM loads
Organised DS1&2 to get pencil cases/pe kit etc ready for school

DS3 not back till Tuesday. He had me awake last night with earache so I'll see how he goes tonight.

Soappie - no Dolly tonight whilst cooking as I'd just got back from visiting in the hospital so was updating OH. Love Dolly as I do I have to be in the mood for her. Hope your return to work is ok - I can't keep up as to if you are at the old or new site this week.

Hex - OMG I remember that post - I think I was quite new to flylady then and I remember being so inspired that somebody had done it - I didn't realise it was you, I often wondered how 'the person' who did it kept up - and now I know.

Vivv I am with you hun it is too busy to keep up with the thread right now especially as it takes me a while to remember newbies. I just skim through and if somebody's name keeps cropping up I read to see what there news is.
Mudbath is right it is busier than usual right now with people home from work and lots of newbies but it will settle back down again.

Sorry I'm not thanking all posts at the moment as it takes so long with my dodgy mouse I'd never get anywhere.

Lil_me - thanks for asking about Nan. Her breathing is better today but she seems so very tired and quite confused which is not like her. Just talking is too much effort for her. They are talking about sending her home tomorrow but I'm not sure that is a good idea as she is not stong enough to care for herself. She has been refered to social care (my friend works in that department so I've been to see her on the way home) but it doesn't always fall into place easily. Mum is going up tomorrow but that could make things more complicated as you know hun.

Toots in my skimming I didn't see many posts from you - hope you are ok

Shattered - I bet you are now - way to go girlfriend

Polly - I hope you are feeling less bored and angry today

Tomorrow I'm getting the christmas tree down and doing the living room.

  • Hi all,

Don't know if anyone missed me (other than kazmeister) but i am back. ;)
We were away for a good chunk of xmas, getting back from visiting the in-laws yesterday with a lot of washing and so many new toys to find homes for i am still in shock. We've also had DS2 not quite sleeping through, and then rather too many nights of DS1 being over-hyped and waking at 4am and being awake from then, so not the restful break i imagined, but lovely non-the-less. I have had a brief flick through bits of the thread but there is so much i can't possibly catch up and won't be.

I now have 12 weeks till i start work again, where has that gone??? So i want to have a list of jobs to get done before i go back to make my life easier, plus enjoy every minute i can, and deal with having no money between now and then as we are thoroughly skinted. So long and short, much as i love you guys, the time is limited at the minute, so i will post when i can and read what i can, but it is not going to be much reallistically.

I also need to lose a good half stone plus some of another stone, so i will be trying to diet and exercise around it all too. 1 1/2 hours completed on the Wii fit tonight, mainly balance stuff and hula hooping. :D

Anyway, we had a good housey day today to get us started. We've:
    • washed - one load kids stuff, one load of towels and one of DH's jumpers
    • airers - emptied of clothes washed before we went away - sorted into too small, need ironing or put away
    • been to meadowhall, returned a jumper MIL bought to next, got charlie 6 t-shirts instead, returned a pizza board i was bought so have a credit note for marks, got Sam a plastic bib, sorted a birthday pressie for DH's boss's daughter, got some toiletries we needed and had lunch out
    • went to aldi for some bits, not overly impressed as it wasn't as cheap as expected
    • made sausage mash and veg to eat with the boys
    • DH tidied garage and did a run to the tip with all the cardboard from chrimbo
    • we took down the tree and put that outside ready for the tip, and got the decs back in the loft - remind me next year i don't need crackers or xmas cards
    • swept up all pine needles that dropped, but need to hoover
    • sorted a bag of leftover chocs for DH to feed to his workmates and save me from myself
    • unpacked 3 large holdalls from being away
    • got out some mince and some soup from freezer so i can feed the boys properly tomorrow.
I'll be in boys permitting as they are bound to be a bit grotty down from a minimum of four adults attention only yesterday to just me tomorrow, and i have some priorities this week:
    • take down xmas cards - write new addresses in my book for through the year
    • my car has MOT on Wed
    • DH's car has MOT on Thur
    • take down outside lights
    • book Charlie a holiday day for nursery for our Center Parcs break this month
    • wash all clothes from being away
    • sort at least one bag for charity shop
    • pack too small clothes from DS2 away properly and then get DH to put in loft
    • meal plan till center parks break on 19th,
    • start to get clothes ready for Center parks
    • sort thank you cards for boys xmas pressies - going to get DS1 to paint tomorrow i think.
    • starve the cat again as the bleeping cattery have overfed him all week and all our hard work in December was undone by them. Grr - not to mention using about £20 worth of our mega expensive food
    January jobs:
    • find homes for all new presents
    • teak oil furniture in the living room
    • pack for centre parks
    • plan out veg patch in garden
    • start doing the digging out of the rockery for the veg patch in the garden
    • write a list of what i need to/want to get done before going to work
    • work out with MIL a shopping list for Center parks to make sure our life savings are not spent in a 4 night break feeding them luxury food again. My plan is to take leftover booze and goodies from chrimbo
    • list a pile of books/DVDs on amazon after we've been on hols
More than enough to get me started. I think i am going to have to be good about getting stuff done on an evening i think so i don't waste time when with the boys.

    Michelle, x

Blimey there are some motivated people here today... and all it took was for Pigpen to tell us not to do anything at the weekend!

Congratulations all of you... especially SarahShattered (we did wonder whether you would survive!) and the new, keen flyladies. Don't worry about keeping up with the thread, just post... if you ask for advice someone will read it, and if they know that the person best qualified to answer might not spot it, they'll alert them.

Chocolate & coconut cakes filled & iced (I struggled to find jam to put in the coconut cake, but eventually found just enough of some rather elderly blueberry. Carrot cake is cooling, so will be iced tomorrow, and between sorting out the study and doing the odd bit of work  I'll make the rest...

I'm going to try to persuade my parents to go out for the day, but I have a feeling they'll end up staying in and being useful (which is great, but it gets a bit claustrophobic... I really should have had a day in the office :rotfl: )

Suppose I should get on and go to bed really... I bed there aren't lots of people on the thanking challenge tonight :p
