My 11 year old just asked me how you use the phone!!!!!!!!

Even my toddler has a vague grasp of how to use a phone :rotfl: She's called people on my mobile before so I had to lock the keys, and she walks around with a phone cradled on her neck going "hello, hmmm, yep, uh huh, oh, hello, ahhh, bye" :D

I feel really sorry for ex though. He was his companion (he lives alone), and on Friday, he had a house fire which trashed his downstairs too.
He's not had a good start to 2009.

Hawthorn Big Hugs. Its a hard thing to do. My last cat had feline aids and I still often think of him and when my ex partner and I went with him to the vets.

Funny thing I noticed. Whenever I realise a CC payment is due in the next couple of days (and I pay it immediately) it usually doesn't show on my bank statement until a day or so after the due date. And I get charged £12 for the privilege of being late with my payment.

However, I paid three CCs on Sunday, all of them well before the due dates. Strangely, the amounts are all showing on my bank statement as coming out immediately on Monday.

When you set up a payment to the CC (or any other person/organisation) you are essentially setting up a standing order which takes up to 4 working days to arrive. The date you put in with the bank is the date it will leave your account (assuming that you have available funds), it will then take a further 2 working days to get to it's destination. A lot of these payments go into a suspense account at the other end and are then applied to your CC (or other) account based upon your reference number (mega important to get this right!!!) The last step usually happens on the day it arrives at t'other end but can update overnight hence the 4 WD guidance.

With the introduction of 'faster payments' in theory the funds could arrive the same day. Both organisations have to be signed up to this system so I would not depend upon it for time critical payments just yet. I think all SO's will use this system eventually.

If you are close to payment date it might be worth ringing up or using your debit card online to make a payment. That way the payment is usually applied within 24 hours but could take a couple of days to leave your bank account! When you pay this way round the funds are usually reserved or 'earmarked' to prevent you indvertantly drwaing them out in the mean time.

    Hope that all makes sense!

    Evening all!

Well, I've done b***er all so far this week...I'm a bad flylady (hence wannabe) ah well, tomorrows another day and I'm off so i'll have to have a good old go at it tomorrow, 'cept between 11 and 1 coz i've my next appointment at coucellors (really can't spell that work),though I think I blew her off kinda at work today coz i didn't recognise her til after she'd gone. God I'm good.

Right, gonna go make a list for tomorrow and Thursday, not back at work til four, so I should be able to do a good chunk of work.
    Now MARRIED!11/09/10
  • WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT! A HHC that is!
    In my HHC I:
    finished off dinner
put away all the dry dishes
washed more dishes, dried, and put away
cleared all the work surfaces and wiped down
    wiped over window sill
cleared out fridge of old stuff, and wiped in and out - rearranged all the alphabet fridge magnets into alphabetical order, and wrote 'DONT FORGET LUNCH' - a reminder for DH!
    wiped over hob
    swept kitchen floor
    put some recycling out

It's amazing how much you can do in half an hour! - how did everyone else do?

Right off too have dinner with DS1, then bath and bed for him by 8ish, catch up with you later XxX
Housework only gets noticed when it's not done.
My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.
Can never keep up with the thread - otherwise I'll never get anything done! But hugs to All :grouphug:
    XxX
