    yay.gif Glad you've cheered up :D
  • Come on my gang, I need some ideas for my first Money Saving Monday:p

Still feeling good about my decision, so it must be the right thing..............right?

Had to go to the supermarket at lunch time to pick up milk for work, spent £15:eek: Although I still havn't done a proper shop this week, so I have £35 left to spend.

No sales of any of my tat ahem....uneeded top quality items;) so the 'cash fund' is not doing so well this week.

Had an exciting offer today, next door wanted to know if we would like their 4 bed house and they would take our 3 bed in part exchange...hubby basically told him to sling his hook!!! I would have least asked for a good look round and see what was on offer:mad:

Every little helps as one of the big supermarket says:rotfl:

An odd thing to do, are they working age and struggling to cover the mortgage or retired and thus looking to get some capital?

    Hi TPA

re Money Making Mondays... the only things I can think of at the moment is spring cleaning the house to find anything that can be sold, rereused or freecycled.

Not sure how much help this is!

Oh, and batch cooking meals for the freezer and meal planning
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

    Phase 1 - Emergency Fund - Complete :j
    Phase 2 - £20,000 Mortgage Fund - Underway

The house is currently rented out to the council:mad: We have a shared drive way so this has caused issues, we currently own the drive and next door have access over it. The guy that owns it wants to free up some capital.
I think we should consider it, get ours valued as it could solve lots of problems, but it could also make other problems...oh what to do:confused:

Anyway on to money, did the weekly shop came within our £50 budget..just:j , then I remembered spent £15 yesterday:mad: But (here comes the excuse!) I did buy lots of 'store cupboard'' goodies for future weeks, some good offers on things I would normally buy.

OK own up, who swore and mentioned 'spring cleaning' I don't do domestic:rotfl: But I will have to when i'm a part timer:mad:

Rang Barclays/Woolwich and lowered next months payments to reflect the new interest rate:j

Well don't rush in on the property aspect, you have plenty of time to consider. Good to hear of those vouchers arriving, nice start to the weekend!
  • :rotfl: Firstly poo bear...did a big post and someone pinched it!! :rotfl: Lost in the ether(sp?) that is the internet.

Anyway, what a week! Firstly I give up hours in work, a whole day per week, have to say I'm quite excited by the prospect of having a day a week for money saving, domestic duties etc! But not so enamoured by the though of the drop in wages.
Secondly we are asked if we would like to buy the house next door and they would take ours in part exchange, aw my head hurts with all this thinking:p

    Good news:
    • Took lunch everyday (I think, I cannot remember a day when I had to buy any!!)
    • Got £50 worth of M&S vouchers from Daily Mail:j
    • Mortgage rate reduced to 1.09% from next month:j
    • Opened another regular saver at a fixed 4.5%:j & most importantly:-
    • Realised that there are some lovely, helpful, supportive people on here (thank you all):T
    Bad news:
    • Overspent on the shopping by a wopping £15:mad:
    • Hubby withdrew £10 from the bank even though we had cash here:mad:
    • Tesco savings account dropped 0.5%
    • Didn't sell even one item:mad:
    Targets for next week:
    • Take lunch for the three days I am working (have two days A/L)
    • Sort out some money making things, join sites that pay for reviews etc
    • Sort house and get it valued:mad: err domestic jobs..pants!
    • Work one extra evening
    • Sort expenses and claims for extra hours
    • Advertise some more tat - AKA lovely unwanted items
    • Sort presents for: 2 x mothers day (early I know but needs to be done this week) sister in laws birthday, in-laws Ruby Wedding anniversary, I have a present drawer but i'm not sure it will have things for all these events:rotfl:
OK thats enough for one week

    Hope you are all well
