My SOA - Gulp! Lightbulb moment!!

That's fantastic that you have reduced your outgoings enough to leave you with about £600 pm to throw at debts! :j :j :j
Just realised what a terramundi pot is - thank goodness you didn't buy it! Gorgeous I know - I live in a small town famous for it's craft/art/quirkiness and they are all over the shops here too - but totally a waste of money! The sealed pot challenge people would have made something out of tin and sellotape for zero ££ and put the £15 inside the pot instead. :rotfl: But, well done for resisting temptation.
Are you now in a position to be able to make pro-rata offers to everyone? I guess then the plan is to keep that going for a few years, then revisit the situation when your fixed rate mortgage deal ends? I dread to think what the mortgage product market will be like in 3 years - and even if people like our goodselves will have any chance of getting a good deal! But we can always come here for advice...
Happy half term week! My son has hogged my DS all day today (cheeky monkey) but it is my fault for spending some of my birthday money on a Disney game for goodness sake!"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something"0 -
Yes, CCCS will be making the pro rata offers. Whether they are accpeted by the creditors remains to be seen!
I was really pleased with myself for resisting the terramundi pot especially as my friend bought one but I'm going to make do with my plastic container. Also I thought it would be a great shame to have to smash the pot (although I know that is the reason for them!).
The mortgage is going to be my real dread. According to my friend who arranged my mortgage for me the company has to continue the mortgage at the end of the 3 years fixed rate (providing you've kept to the t's & c's) and move you to its variable rate. Although I've got no intention of increasing the amount of my mortgage borrowing I would have liked to transfer to a different type of mortgage (currently on repayment) and it does panic me that I won't be able to do that because of what is happening now. I guess it's ickle steps to start with though. I'll have to sort out what I know now (ie my debts) and not something I don't know about ie what the future may bring.......Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
Just got home to find a letter from Rish Management Alternatives. Apparently MBNA have instructed them to contact me to secure repayment of the overdue amount (1 month) to bring my account up to date.
Anyone know anything about RMA? Should I just ignore it?
I'm sending off my notice of DMP to MBNA tomorrow (doing it with CCCS) and also £1 token payment etc.Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
RMA Resolve - debt collectors.
When did you take out the MBNA card?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hi RAS... I took it out some years ago. Can't remember the exact date but over 4 years ago at the very least.Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0

Pack gone off to CCCS today. I've also sent off my token payments at the same time. All seems to have gone quiet on the phone calls front today. Oh and two of the cheques which I sent to my creditors requesting copies of my credit card statments have been cashed so hopefully I will have some news soon
Fingers crossed for a good two days of NSD this weekend!Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
Yey, progress! And good luck with your NSDs this weekend. I find the weekends hardest"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something"0

I don't know how your creditors have reacted so far St0lli, but all mine have done is send rejection letters! So far they've all said thanks but no thanks, pay up or else. So, I have today replied to them all telling them that £1 is all I can afford right now and it would be unfair to my other creditors to pay them any more than that.
Littlewoods are demanding the most money, so I have also today sent a CCA request off to them - as I have had a Littlewoods catalogue for donkeys years and it is highly unlikely that there is an enforceable credit agreement. Hope that this will buy me some time until I can afford to pay them off.
Capital One have asked for copies of wage slips and bank statements, which I have decided to send off as, if accepted, will mean that interest and charges on the account are frozen while I pay off the arrears.
On the brighter side, I plucked up the courage to call RBS today. They went through my SOA with me and have agreed that I can repay my loan repayment arrears over 4 months from next month. They have also restored access to my current account online, and have refunded the £38 unpaid DD charge from earlier this month as a goodwill gesture! Hurrah! I feel good about something for once!
Have you any news to report?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something"0 -
Hurrah!!!!!!!!! That's a great result with RBS :j
Just remember that you can't give your creditors what you haven't got. The DCA seems a good way to go, so good luck with that.
I've PM'd you but forgot to mention that I've had a reply from MBNA listing my CC charges for the last six years and they returned my cheque for £10 that I had sent them. I'm a bit confused regarding the policy on how much you should claim back and have posted a question about it on Reclaiiming bank and credit card charges board but no reply so far.Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
As far as I'm aware you claim back the whole bl00ming lot! I think the maximum charge is £12 - or that was the amount set as 'reasonable' by the courts in the decision on credit card charges. Have you had a look at Martin's guide? How much were MBNA charging you each time?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something"0
