  • Angelflower...who did you get your shared ownership mortage with? Im trying to hunt down places!

I got successful offers from Halifax, Abbey and Lloyds TSB (as I needed 3 for the application)

I decided to go with LLoyds and they have been brilliant.

The housing association also pay a portion of the purchase fees as they have to get written into the documentation so my total fees were £750 plus I had the survey which was about £300.

Please do bear in mind this was last year before all the hoo ha. The HA actually gave me a list of people they knew offered these types of specialist loans. Other people choose to use a broker (i dont belive in paying them though when I am willing to do the donkey work).

Hope you get on well with the phone call!!

  • -Nearly a NSD but spent £4 on fruit in Sainsburys -Re-offered some bits on Freecycle to make some more space

Wish I could do the double quote things cause I just laughed so much reading through these posts....

wondered why you would spend £4 on fruit then offer it on freecycle but realised you must be talking about something else

Then someone said about using wallpaper to wrap their high school boots rather than books....

I think I am going mad!! :rotfl:

I've made my own soup today, for the first time ever! And have made enough for my lunches at work all next week. I'm feeling very proud - I'm a DFW newbie and can see this money saving getting fun and addictive!

I also got value stuff in the supermarket where I'd normally get brand stuff and checked the price of everything - never, ever done that before either!! Yay me! :T
