flying fresian - thank you for mentioning that!
i just had an idea... where can i get free audiobooks from??? oh is dyslexic (why do they make that so hard to spell???) and audio books would be great when he is in hospital.... would i need to buy an mp3 player or ipod? sorry not very technical!
p.s. not got drill out yet but have made filing cabinet thingy!!
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
Well didn't do much today, one of those days when i planned nothing as i was running around like mad yesterday doing all the washing, changing beds etc etc.
But today i took the dog for a nice long walk, on my own. OH was being miserable and wouldn't join me, choosing rather to play a game on his stupid xbox.
Only spent £7 at the shops, bits and pieces for the week for work.
Then about an hr ago sold my TV on ebay for £30 and someone is picking it up tonight. Quiet pleased as we got given a better TV on new years day for the bedroom and obviously we have our bargain buy plasma in the lounge.
So all up now, have a free TV, made £30 on our old TV and paid only £50 for a plasma.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Thanks guys, i see that shared ownership is a good deal. I dont think my mum knows enough about it and isnt willng to see the positives. I think this is for me and the bills side seems what im looking for. I hope that i dont need much of a deposit for the shared owndership type. I really want to do this! Evening all,
Was up early-ish in preparation for hitting the shops and also to get my body use to an earlier morning (back to work tomorrow – argh)
Cassey - Happy birthday
RVK2 – Welcome and a nice long list
Bathgatebuyer – using wallpaper to wrap isn’t cheap at all! I remember when my mum wrapped up my high school boots with it. Waste not want not.. Anyway it sounds nice!
Flying_Fresian – I love your pictures (I just keep forgetting to say!)
Lilian – congrats
Pips Mum – hope the little one comes soon
Tallie – Glad you are ok
Urg123 – good idea about leaving out clothes, I think I will do that as it will be hard enough dragging myself up at 6:30am.
My dfw things for today;- Breakfast – had remainder of Asda’s ‘frosties’. Now just need to use up at least 2 boxes of Ready Brek before opening up a new box of cereal.
- Lunch – didn’t have any as I was too busy shopping
- Ebay – 1 more watcher
- Carried on using another sachet of moisturiser
- Dropped off broadsheet newspapers at my parents for lining sisters rabbit hutch
- Dropped off Homebase magazine at my parents for one of my sisters to read before it gets recycled
- Used bus pass to get into city centre
- Sainsbury – reused carrier bag (got 1 point)
- Sainsbury – got a couple of dog treats (75% off) for 2 of my sisters dogs
- Used boots double points coupon
- Boots – got free Bourjois pencil sharpener using Boots £2 off voucher
- Boots – got Kate moss perfume gift set for under £7.50 as box was a little bashed (manager knocked £3 off the sale price which is currently ½ original price) – put into present stash for sisters birthday
- Boots - got some discount voucher for spending over £5 (will look at when I have time)
- Debenhams – treated myself to a pair of ½ price leather gloves (paid about £12.99)
- Debenhams – got 5 free tiny DKNY perfume samples
- Jenners – got 2 Vera Wang princess perfume gift sets at ½ price
- TK Maxx – got myself a lovely Jessica Simpson handbag from the clearance section for under £15(originally priced at £29.99, then reduced to £22), paid £12 from gift card, rest cash
- M&S – got a book for £5 reduced from £12 and a grow your own chilli set £5 reduced from £19.50 (paid just under £10 after lower Vat) Both for present stash
- Asda – got a king size duvet cover for £4 :j reduced from £12 (current range as there was no original plastic bag packaging) and 50 paper napkins reduced to 37p (not sure of original price but seemed like a good price) – Duvet cover will be one of the presents for sister when she gets married this summer. Hoping to get more bargains so I can fill a gift basket up for them
- Woolworths – got a named cup for DS £1.19. Think original price was £4.99
- Superdrug – from the 49p section for 2 pairs of socks for DS (for when he’s older as he’s got enough socks just now)
I personally thought the Next sale was rubbish, there were a couple of damaged items from 2 different Nexts but staff said they couldn't reduce the price any further. Well good luck to them should they sell (which I doubt at the 'sale' prices I had seen).
That’s all I can think of.Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
Boots points: £0.28
Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)0 -
Been at work all day today so nothing too ground breaking but hoping not to have to do much more grocery shopping this month as I have tons in the cupboards. Off to do a month long meal plan in a bit:eek: - will see how far I get.
-Free scratchcards done- 20p won.
-Took lunch to work so didn't buy any
-Leftovers for tea
-Nearly a NSD but spent £4 on fruit in Sainsburys -Re-offered some bits on Freecycle to make some more space
-Persuaded OH to let me put dishwasher on eBay as we hardly ever use it
-Checked internet banking and pay has gone in:j . Should have gone in Friday but didn't due to some bank holiday glitch.....
Think that's it- off to lie in the bath and mealplan!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

What a successful day shopping.
"Urg123 – good idea about leaving out clothes, I think I will do that as it will be hard enough dragging myself up at 6:30am."
I just thought I'd tell you that I learned this tip from Trinny and Susannah who recommended it to help you use your whole wardrobe! Don't forget to accessorise!

I went through Quidco and got a two week free trial with Audible which has gained me £4 cashback. I am going to stay with them for a few months as well as they have loads of good books and it's about £6.99 if you're a member for 1 book.princess_loki wrote: »flying fresian - thank you for mentioning that!

If you don't have an ipod, the other option would be to:
1. Join Audible
2. Choose the two free books to download - mine were about 10 hours long in total, lots of entertainment!
3. Follow the on-screen instructions
4. If you don't have an iPod/MP3 player, you could then burn the audiobooks to CD and use a CD walkman.
Enjoy!0
