Neutrogena is good but expensive, cheaper alternative that is also itch free for me is Vosene.0

Pure essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin as they can burn and if you already have a sensitive scalp I would be very cautious of doing this.
I'm sorry I can't really offer any more help. What has your doctor suggested?0 -
I know of a lady who did this too, she used vinegar and I think witch hazel and didnt wash it at all for 2 yrs. But I dono what it looked like. I'm also starting to struggle for a shampoo that wont itch or leave my scalp covered in bumps .0

I thought you meant a dry shampoo.
I remember when I was at schol and had a cold so mom didn't want me to wash my hair (in case I got the plague or something!)
She went to get some dry shampoo - Batiste is it called? - and came back without as they had none.
So she said 'Never mind we can use some talc, it'll be ok'
So next day not only did I have to go to school looking like I'd gone prematurely grey but I also stunk of Avon Musk :rotfl:
E45 shampoo is really good. I've used it lately, it is expensive though so see if your local Home Bargains has any. If that doesn't work, see your doc for something? You mind have a mild dermatitis?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I've been using the Naked products (available in Boots) which seem far better for me - I don't get that 'tight' feeling anymore. Does anyone think that the chemicals in shampoos/conditioners actually cause scalp psoriasis (which I now have) or is it an age thing (menopausal)?0

I didnt think of that adecor, it might be age. It has just recently started with me and I'm aged !:)0

What I would like to know is has anyone tried just washing hair without any shampoo. I am sure that I read some celeb does this and once you get used to it it's better for your hair.
have you tried dry shampoo? its in a can and you just spray it on then brush it out. ASDA, TESCO and BOOTS all sell it. I always use it. Other than that try talc to refresh your hair.

You could try Conditioner Only washing:

I've never tried it myself though so I can't vouch for it.0 -

I've been doing this for 6 months now. I have thick, curly, dry, coloured hair and haven't used shampoo on it since June 2008.. It's in much better condition now. I use a light conditioner to clean my scalp with, then a heavier one to do the actual conditioning bit.
However, I really dont know how this would work for those with fine and/or greasy hair, but I (and my best mate who has hair like mine) now swear by this method. My hair is clean and soft and in lovely condition.0
