    travelodge isnt exactly speaking romance

cheap night to ..... etc etc

Neither is home ... we don't always have millions of pounds which we can afford to spend willy nilly, We will be spending it at home, the children will also be with us we can't always have everything in life we want and if OH was to book a £9 room for us I would love it!

We're going for a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet meal, and OH's stepbro bought us an amazing pressie for Xmas, a gift pack for our local Cinema De Lux 'Directors Hall' which is a small, intimate screen with huge leather loveseats and its own bar, so we're going to use that and see a film.

Its OH's birthday on the 17th so its more for that really... Im buying him the rugby shirt I wanted to buy him at Xmas and couldnt afford.

I could do with some ideas for my OH, I dont really have much money to spend as my car tax is in feb £145!!

I have about £50-£60, He's 25, he has his own house but his dad lives with him coz he's a bum, so we wont really have the place to ourselves to get "romantic"

last year i made a hamper with

home made heart shaped chocolates and wrote "i love you" on the top of them which he didn't eat coz the chocolate was too rich so i snaffed them all ha ha!

The first film we went and watched on our first date.

    rose petals

    bottle of bubbly

and a few other bits and pieces

So any ideas welcome as the hamper didn't really work that well.

    Many thanks

hels102 bet you have a fantastic night, sounds perfect to me.

    Loving everyone's ideas.
Mmmmm ideas here so far - not many LOL
bum biscuits, huge heart cookies, heart chocs and heart choc lollies, heart balloon, teddy, hampers all done last year.
Not much money here either at the mo. Have come up with one very small crafty idea but waiting on a tool from ebay(not a rude tool):o So more on that later. If it works will be a easy little gift for hampers, easter, birthdays and christmas too. Fingers crossed for me with that then LOL

My OH is working Valentine's evening (no he's not a male escort!) so we will 'celebrate' the night before which is his birthday anyway.

I love that candy, really pretty! I am baking today as it's DS2's birthday, he's 2. Got a chocolate cake in the oven and biscuit dough hardening in the fridge so I can roll it and make number '2' biscuits.

Can his dad not go somewhere else for the night - maybe you could get one of those £9 Travelodge rooms for your OH dad? You could then cook a nice meal, have some wine and let the rest of the evening sort itself out...

I did mention before but how about a 'how well do you know me' game - simply write questions down on slips of paper, pop in a bag/box and pull out at random.

A box of hugs/ special box is cheap and easy... http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=453

A single rolo in a box

    Booklet of love coupons... http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1172

    Valentines Day Survival Kit... http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=2421

    HTH :D
