Sammy I think its great news and good for you for being so supportive. Too many people are far too judgemental these days and give young mums a hard time. My brothers brother in law and girlfriend have just found out they are having a baby and they are both 16. Both will continue with their education but are very sensible and couldnt go down the abortion route. Good luck to them I say. If there is anything that she needs and I can get for cost or cheap let me know (I work in baby shop)I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

forgot to say spud in my melancholy dronings that the offer of stuff is most appreciated and yes, I reckon we have another seven months....
Right, I'm sure at some stage in the next 7 months, my DH will be in a good mood.
I think they are mainly girly clothes....DS used to wreck everything :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Spot on Spud-my kids are fine at school, but I don't want to hot house them...the few "bright" kids I know have some really nasty traits..or no personality whatsoever!Looks like I'm the oldest mum on here...I had my first at 32..Debt-free...and staying that way...0

Oh that film got on my nerves......did you enjoy ghost town or whatever it was called with Ricky Gervais.....
I did a similar thing Lou - went through teenage years at about 34:D
I thought that Ghost Town had potential but was a bit ordinary to be honest.:rolleyes:But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
thats it spud use me and abuse me;)
i do think my kids miss out on a lack of family support though.
hence the reason i have had to have a care assesment done by social services:rolleyes: ...0 -

We've just never had a proper routine and having spent today decorating the kitchen, and making it look lovely, I want to make sure we keep the whole house sparkly and clean like thatIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

i agree with you sammy. i totally dropped out of education to bring up my son at 16, whom most of you know also happened to be born with downs syndrome, and i think for many years someone has been waiting for me to fall flat on my face as i have had no family to help me what so ever never ever has my mum even baby sat for even an hour.
now at the grand old age of 32 i am juggling the not so little apple of my eye his sister a dog full time college, work, essays, and i am just waiting to see if i get an interview and a place at university.
but i was born to be a mum and i have done a blimmin ok job at it too.
some of us are born to be mothers and i think a 16 yr old can be as good a mother as a 40 yr old if its what you want and it makes you happy so bleedin what!
good luck to her!
p.s sorry for the teenage mum thing rant.
Jacs I had forgotten your son has downs, and you are to be congratulated on your resourcefulness over the years, bringing up a child with a disability is one of the most difficult and rewarding things a person could do. My sister has cerebral palsy and was the apple of my eye till she fell out with my mother and left home at 11 to go and live with my dad, we had little or no contact for years after that...
Spud - if it wasn't for my OH's family that would be me....at our wedding we had 'close family' only - that was 30 of OH's family and me and my mother...
BUT - one day Spud you will have grandchildren round your feet and christmas won't be so quiet anymore.....:rotfl:Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Don't you think it's weird watching your friends parent though? You'd think we all had somethings in common considering the fact we are pals but my friends range from pushy-mums to the way-too-laidback-have-you-any-clue-where-your-kids-are-mums! I like to think I'm somewhere in the middle!Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
