Just checked my account and my DD to Virgin media hasn't come out of either account. !!!!!!.

I also don't have enough time left on my break to call A&L to check. I will do it tomorrow.

    Bah.

Returned home to find secure message from A&L on my online banking saying that they have told Scottish Power to take the money from my new account and that the direct debit has been set up correctly.

I have been asked to call Scottish Power directly.

The last time I called them was years ago, as I hate power companies and all who work for them (No offence if you do, but every person I have ever spoken to at a power company has been a muppet who hasn't tried to help me) I'm going to spend a good portion of the night trying to find their phone number. Eek!

I also have to call Virgin now as they haven't taken my DD either.

I had better get my £100 for switching...

It's interesting how people count their NSDs. For me, if I spend, then it's a spend day. It doesn't matter what I spend it on - groceries, forbidden favourites, car park... it all counts as a spend to me.

FF - thanks to you, I have joined Audible (I think it was you who mentioned it...) through quidco, and am happily listening to 'Dear Fatty'. :) I'm not sure if I'm going to give it an extra month or cancel it...

Loving the diary, but not supplying the cakes, as I'm trying to lose lbs! Sorry.

I hope you get sorted with Scottish Power and Virgin tomorrow. I had problems with gas company a few months ago. I don't know how many people I spoke to but they didn't have a clue. Finally got is sorted though.

I would not worry too much because it will eventually sort itself out.

Hi F_f, at least you have a better idea of what's going on with your switch. Have you got through to your beloved friends at the power company?

It sounds so lovely you and OH planning train trips out together. Let us know where you pick 1671.gif

    • [strike]Have another NSD. [/strike]I have spent no unbudgeted money in February, and want to see how long I can keep this up!
Have a lovely day everyone :D

    Hi everyone!

Another day of doing quite well for me! I haven't called up about my direct debits, as I am putting it off :rotfl: I will call Scottish Power from work tomorrow and Virgin tomorrow night when I get home.

Thanks for all the comments today, I always like to see who's reading :D I think I might have to rethink the cake rule though - if I was able to eat all of those I would have to get the doors widened!

NSDs - The only way I can motivate myself to do NSDs is to not include the budgeted for items. I'm well within my groceries budget this month and haven't bought anything I didn't need when I have had to go to the supermarket, so I would feel that I was being hard on myself if I counted them as spends. Also, why break a NSD if you need milk when it's included in that budget? I would break the NSD if I also bought chocolate when I went to get the milk!

Audible - amazing site! I am going to get one more book and then cancel as I have two of the three books in Philip Pullman's trilogy. They are read by the man himself and great value for money!

My cheque for musicmagpie finally came through, so I will have £8.95 to put towards a debt soon. I am going to pay it into the bank tomorrow. I really need to sort out my Ebay/Amazoning again, but haven't had a lot of motivation to do so really. It is nice to get those small amounts trickling into your bank account though...

Right, that is another huge post from me, so I'm going to go to bed and read my book.

See you all in the morning!
