"As you will see from above, I had done all of the things on my list again, yay! I have also done some washing and got some bargains from the shops - without compromising my NSD" flying_fresian..........
Morning all.
You have just mentioned something that has been puzzling me for a while now. If I have set aside an amount for groceries (I am a fan of the Grocery Challenge!) and I spend some money out of that, do I still have a NSD? Or are NSD's counted when you don't buy anything over and above the budgeted items? Or is it simply down to me to decide? All comments welcome!!!!:j[DFW Nerd club #1142 Proud to be dealing with my debt:TDMP start date April 2012. The NSDs are totally down to you to decide. My trip to the vets was unplanned and involved spending money so shouldn't have counted as an NSD but since it was essential I haven't penalised myself for it. The celebratory chocolate bar on the way home is an entirely different matter!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

The stuff I bought yesterday didn't count as breaking my NSD as I used gift vouchers and no cash was spent.
Really it's up to you. Some people will count groceries in their Spend Days. I don't do this as I have a separate account for my grocery spending. I would only count groceries as a spend day if I bought something not on my list, like a massive cake or a book!0 -
yay! that's good news. If I only count things that are not budgeted for, then I have far more NSD's than I thought I had. I will 'sort of' include grocery money, then if I may have some left over each month - which I can throw at the credit card.
Off to work with a spring in my step now..

Good morning all,
I think it will be a quiet day for me today, nothing much going on apart from work. My plan of DFW actions are:
- Take flasks to work with me
- Phone banks from work to ask about my missing direct debit. I need to check my accounts book and see if any other ones are missing too...fun.
- Make lunch and take to work with me.
- Make dinner at home when I get back from work - something chickeny I think.
- Get final token for 2for1 rail travel from the Sun and book my tickets to wherever I decide to go :rotfl: This is a very DFW adventure, as I am getting the tokens from a friend at work so I don't even have to buy the paper :j
- Call my best friend and make plans for a trip to the pictures sometime soon.
- Have another NSD. I have spent no unbudgeted money in February, and want to see how long I can keep this up!

Ooops i've just realised i've not been contributing to the cake fest!!!
Day at home for me with little one. Will venture out for a walk in the snow later though - i love it!!!! :jOne step at a time0 -
Thats interesting about the NSD's - might adopt that as so far in Feb I have only bought groceries and petrol which are budgeted for which makes it 5/5 for me too!
Them cakes look beaut hopeful1 I am at home supposedly working but am fancying baking cakes now... We have snow here again, went from being just the dregs of mon/tue on the ground at midnight to having a good 4 inches by 6am!
Yeah be a good idea to check the DD f-f if it still hasn't come out, very strange. Don't do investigating though let the bank deal with that, it's supposed to be hassle free switching!

Looks like I'm on track for NSD #5 and I have now got all the tokens I need for the 2for1 rail offer with the Sun :j I just need to sit down with t'other half and see where we're going and when.
The direct debit is still a mystery. Halifax can't tell me why it hasn't come out, I still have to call A&L and see if they can shed any light on it. Does anyone know if they are UK call centres or overseas?0 -
I'm with A&L and have always got through to a UK person, if thats any help. Dunno if they all are though xThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0

Hey Fresian,
How exciting a trip somewhere, I always love visiting new places. Even if it's just a day trip it's always nice.
Funny thing that DD - especially if noone can shed any light. Weird.
Just wanted to say thanks for posting on my diary - feeling 99% better and more focused than the past couple of weeks and def going to post daily here as it's a great motivator.
Have a nice day :-) xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000
