It could only happen to me! I was literally ready to leave to go to Wales for my friend's birthday - and it's been cancelled  So after emergency shopping this morning because my planned outfit was far too summery (£45 in Oasis that I didn't have :o) I am now sat at home, in my beautiful gold wedges :D, typing this

This weekend was the target of my 'goddess plan' and OK, I'm not exactly a goddess :rotfl:but I do feel better. I am definitely going to keep up some of the good habits I have got into, I prefer to look groomed and 'put together' rather than letting myself go. It makes me feel more positive and I think that makes it worth spending time and a little money :D

My plan now is to stick to my 'baby steps' plans - instead of the all or nothing, one step forward, two steps back approach I've always had in the past :o I'm in debt, it took me 10 years to get into it, I will not get out of it quickly. I need to have a life, be able to accept invitations that come my way - and feel positive! I will not allow my debts to increase but if they are only going down by the minimum payments each month they are still going down. In order to make sure I don't increase my debts but still enjoy myself I need to re-adjust my spending. That means all the frivolous stuff has to stop - magazines, snacks, poor food shopping etc. so that I can still have my real treats - shoes, clothes, nails and nights out :D

I have put a pound back on this week which is not too bad as I've had a couple of 'social' things on but back on track next week. Want to hit my ten pound target over the next 3 weeks - another night out then so I get wear the Oasis top I didn't get to wear today :D

Not doing loads of lists and setting myself up for failure - I knw what I want to acheive and I am prepared to take time to get there. I want to keep this diary positive so I will be posting what I have done rather than what I haven't :j

Just used Nectar points for a year's subscription to Red :j This is defo now going to be my only magazine, plus my weekly Closer (I know, I know :o)

I need to get out of the habit of just picking up magazines - at £3 a time  My Red is now 'free' and am not buying anything else, Now, WeightWatchers, Zest, Glamour - I do NOT need them :D

Ooh, I love Zest.....one of my favourites! I'm the same as you my spends on mags, snacks, bad foods (being large bar of mint aero just now :o) etc are my worst area. OH and I worked out that I have spend in excess of £200 on food alone this month

I like your little steps approach is great, little efforts and not depriving yourself is only the way to go and i'm with you all the way!! :D

Thanks Karen - I have wasted sooooooooo much time making impossible, elaborate plans and failing :o I have actually lost about 15lbs this year but because I keep putting them back on I'm only 4lbs lighter than when I started! And every month I move loads of money into my savings account - and then move it back again to pay my credit card :o

Baby steps - and some fun along the way :D is the plan from now on!

I know that feeling, feel great as put money in savings and then take it out at end of the month etc. I sometimes think we are too hard on ourselves, the debt isn't going away over night it'll take time but it will go if we take a sensible approach and not the all or nothing. It def doesn't work for me and I do want a life at the same time....in a few years we'll be looking back and thinking wow look what we have achieved!

As for the weight loss, with you there. I go up and down like a yo yo...i'm trying the eat sensibly (we know what we have to do ) and increase the exercise but again in a sensible way. It's all common sense really but why do we find it so hard

Here's to baby steps and lots of fun along the way :T xx

Sorry about your cancelled weekend Shoe Gal - what a shame! The poor new gold wedges have nowhere to go yet. sigh.gif However, they would probably need to aquaplane tonight, so perhaps just as well...

Fun baby steps sounds great. goodluck.gif

PS Karen - please could you not mention the words Mint Aero. Any more of that, and I shall have to go to the garage...
