Just a quickie.. my DRO started in February. I was told insolvency contacts all your creditors. Is that correct? One in particular is still sending me letters and harrassing me over the phone.. asking me to fax over all my DRO information. I keep asking them to contact insolvency and giving them my DRO number... to which they refuse and state its down to me to fax information over.
There is no where near me that faxes.. apart from maybe the library.. but with a baby and a toddler and a double pram it is not easy to get there with the long walk and getting into the library etc. I do not want to go to all that effort if it is not down to me to do.. hope that makes sense?
your or should have contacted all of your creditors...could you print a copy of your dro off to send them.....i would be inclined to contact your or and tell them whats happening...they will have very strong words for them iff they are carrying on like that...

Yeah I am sure I read somewhere that the OR will contact them and if for any reason the debtors still contact you, you have to pass the info onto the OR so they can stop it.

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

    Hi guys,
I finally got all my stuff back from the stupid man as he kept asking for stupid things and he was a pain.

Can advise me the best place i should go to now as i have been to the CAB in strand and want to go to someone completley diffrent altogether.

Just one last thing i called the insolvency service and the guy told me if i wanted i could leave out the old debts if im sure that its been written off. should i do this to avoid confusion or should i just add it.

    Thanks guys
id still be inclined to add them sarbaz....you could try calling cccs or national debtline...altho i think their waiting times may be quite long....bains & ernst also do them...:)

Ive heard NDL are taking 6 weeks or so to do DRO's, and I last heard CCCS were looking at 3 weeks or so once the paperwork is in. NDL are available on 0808 808 4000 and CCCS are available on 0800 138 1111. CCCS also have an online system available through their website

As far as i am aware, ALL debt must be included, but as i said earlier, if i was doing it, i would estimate the value with you, and if you do not have a reference number it's no big issue. Statute barred simply means the creditor cannot persue you through the county court, they may still chase payment, i would include it just to draw a line under it...

If you can, get a photocopy of your full DRO forms and your approval letter and post it to them. It might also be worth contacting the DRO Unit (01752 635 200) and asking them to send the notification to this creditor again.

  • I am so glad I found this thread! I have been getting into deeper & deeper debt.....with "help" from LTSB. I have been to the CAB & am due to go again with a view to setting up a DRO. After reading advice on here I am going to open a basic account with the Co-op. Can I start changing my DDs over or should I wait until DRO is in place? My only income is IS.

hi solos mum and welcome...i too got into a lot of debt with "help" from LTSB..lol, you can open your cashminder account and transfer your dd's as soon as you like...just dont let lloyds get wind of what you are doing....i went with the CAB also, and from my first initial appointment to my dro getting submitted was just under 3 wks in all....good luck with everything, and iff you have any questions just come back and ask....:)
  • Hi i dont know if im in the right forum but i hope someone can help.
My husband went through a DRO in april this year we had seperated last Nov all council tax bills were in his name and never joint names i was never a tennant at the property it was all in his sole name.

Now since he had the DRO the council are now sending baliffs after me and saying that i am responsible for his debt, what can i do? as i have no intention of paying im on jsa at the moment as i lost me job when my marriage ended.
How can they come after me when none of the bills where in joint names ever !!!
All the debt and financial issues were half the reason we seperated.

I have told the council to put me in prison as i am not paying it !
