Broken Spirit - With phones the balances will be what it would cost to buy out the contract - ie any outstanding balance + (months remaining X line rental). Make sure you stop using them though!

how long have NDL said it's going to take before your DRO is done now? I think you are right to not mention the DRO to the creditors, i would write advising that you are in conversation with NDL and that you will be in touch when a resolution is found. obviously you wont, the DRO Unit will contact the creditors when your DRO is approved

Hi, thanks 4 verifying all the above 4 me :T I spoke 2 NDL yesterday, although not the DRO team & they said I should hear from them in the next couple of weeks. Its 4 wks this Friday since I received my confirmation for "receipt of documents" So I'm hoping it's not gonna be 2 much longer. The template u advise is very similar 2 one that I used, scarlet gave me her cab one & I just changed the mentioning of CAB-NDL. I've just re read my paperwork that I received from NDL & it refers 2 understated balances & that if u've not listed your most recent balance etc........ that u will be responsible 4 any ammount above what u put on the form. I'm just hoping that they do give me the opportunity 2 update my balances as obviously they have risen due 2 interest/admin charges whilst I have been waiting 4 my form 2 be submitted. As I understood that this was the norm, but on reading the paperwork there's no mention of this. I'm trying 2 get thru 2 the DRO team 2day but no joy so far!

  • Hi. I am in the process of applying for a DRO through Payplan and have received my pre-submission pack. When I submitted my figures they showed a surplus of £33 after essential spending, but our AI has amended some of the figures - she says this is because she has certain parameters - and now my available income is at -£5. The AI says this is fine, but I was under the impression that the available amount has to be between £0 and £50 to qualify. Is it OK to be £5 under that? It's just that I've been reading this thread for a while and I have a niggling feeling that it was said somewhere that minus amounts disqualify you from a DRO.

Can anyone put my mind at rest over this? We meet all the other qualifying criteria and I'd hate to pay the £90 and be turned down :(

I always get the disposable income figure to between 0 and £50. It seems unrealistic to me to show a negative as you are declaring no (or little) savings and won't be taking on further credit.

But I have had colleagues who have submitted negative figures and the DROs have gone through OK.

    hi all!

i posted a while back about going for a dro. things have gone from bad to worse for us, ive been handed my notice in my job and have 3 weeks left, without my income we have nothing! ive had 2 visits from 2 bayliffs about council tax debt. they are coming back on friday to arrange payment and make me sign a WPO, the thing is the debt is £1700 and it has to be clear with in 6 months, so that makes the payments £290 a month. we just dont have that :( how to i deal with this? if i dont pay they will take our stuff, if i sign the agreement when i know i cant stick to it they will take our stuff, im just at a total loss as to what to do. ive emailed the council twice to ask them to consider taking back the debt but they havnt respnded. im going to try the CAB tomorrow morning and pray i can get some help. After being treated so badly at my last attempt for there help i dont hold out much hope :(

please if someone has any advise as to deal with the bayliffs while i get the DRO in order i will forver be gratefull

Hi, I'm terribly sorry 2 hear about your present circumstances. Although I am unable 2 advise u personally, there are experts on here who will. I can provide u with the telephone numbers for the CCCS - 0800 138 1111 8am-8pm mon-fri or alternatively u could call National DebtLine - 0808 808 4000 9am-9pm mon-fri. I have used both services + CAB & found them so helpful. Try making a call 2nite. I'm sure 1 of the experts will be along soon 2 assist u.
