dont no if ur still online orville but iff so iv a question...when you had your appointment with the dro adviser was that it or did you have to wait for all your creditors to get back in touch with your exact amount owing or does that matter iff u know the amount yourself, thanks
Hi.
I had my first appointment and within that she basically went through my debts. I was advised on what i needed to do. She said to call my creditors the day before my 2nd appointment and ask for an upto date balance. Most of them could not give me an exact amount as it was say half way through the billing cycle so i called her and she said to get what figures they have and then add a bit on just to cover the difference.
She at no time said to contact creditors and wait for them to get back to me with figures. She said to get them off them at the time of phoning and just to say i was seeking advice on my debts and have been asked to get the figures.0 -
well she has given me a holding letter which she told me to copy and duplicate and to send to all my creditors asking for a final total but surely by the time they get back to me the dro will have been put through (wishful thinking i know )i already know most of the totals it will probably just be my credit card, but by next week i should know that anyway cuz iv not used it for anything for the last couple of weeks, and that was only to pay my gas bill, i didnt buy anything with it0

Hi.
I don't really understand your statement. How can your DRO go through if you have not given them the amounts..? They have to have the amounts as it is part of the application process. (At least i think it is unless it has recently changed).0 -
i did give them the amounts when i gave them my soa, she made me an appointment to see the dro adviser for next tuesday, then she told me to get my credit report (which i am downloading to save time ) she told me not to make anymore payments to my creditors and then gave me a holding letter to send them which says ' i am having financial difficulty at the moment and have taken advice from the cab and will they hold off any recovery action untill i can work out a financial statement in a couple of weeks when i will get back to them ) i think this is just probably to keep them off my back till it gets sorted...what do you think orville?0

it also says in the meantime will you please send me the balance owed and any interest that has accrued0

I would call all your creditors on the Monday and ask them for the amounts over the phone. Send the letters off as she has said, as for whatever reason your DRO application could be held up and the letters uaually bide you at least 30 days if memory serves me right. that would give you time to sort those queries out should they arrise.0 -
ok that sounds fine to me...iff it goes thru as fast as urs did then there shoulnt really be any interest added on as i have been paying them upto now and they arn't due again for a couple of weeks so hopefully by the time they put any interest on my dro should have been sorted.....hopefully, thanks alot orville x0
