Well as far as i am aware the systems are working fine, maybe fatbelly or immoral or shed some light into that. If i were you i would write a letter of complaint and send it in recorded asap demanding a response and action be taken to process the DRO fortwith. as for uni expences etc, i can't shed any light onto that sorry.

Yes, it seems almost back to normal. I've had one this week that was approved on the following day and a couple take two days.

I am waiting for approval on two more but that's not unusual.

If you receive money from a loved one who has passed on and you spend it doing up your home

Started to compose a long answer to this one and then noticed the phrase (in bold)

    Do you own your home?

If so there's a very quick answer.

    You can't have a DRO!

My DRO application was submitted a week ago but I've not heard anything yet, is this normal as I'm beginning to worry now that there's a problem with it :(

I wouldn't worry, sometimes it can take a little longer. If it'd been rejected you'd have known by now! They may be manually checking it.

    Thank you fatbelly.

The answer is the home is council owned and so is rented.

    Please can anyone else help?

Then I think we're looking at small-sum routine maintenance here.

There's no question on the application that should pose a problem.

I've been reading up on Debt Relief Orders and need advice on a single mother of one living with one parent.

My friend's daughter can no longer cope with her debts, it is now having a knock on effect on her Mum.

But how do they look at a single mum living at home?

She has been pawning stuff and feels despaerate.
There is the mention of £50, is this figure when you take off living costs only? Not debts?

How much is allowed for a 2 year old?

    any help most welcome.

Should she declare that she had received some inheritance money or not say anything at all?

    Sorry I'm a bit confused.

Here is a full pdf print-out of the questions on the application.

I don't think 'I received some inheritance money and used it to redecorate my house' is the answer to any of them.

The OR can investigate any application and could make a Debt Relief Restriction Order/Undertaking for improper conduct

According to the recent report linked to a few posts ago:

"Two Debt Relief Restrictions Undertakings were granted between 6 April 2009 and 31 March 2010 where the official receiver identified misconduct by the debtor."

It would be interesting to know what the misconduct was.

    Hi Bosie

Might be worth having a look on this thread which explains DROs - Debt Relief Orders - Information & help.
Has the daughter sought any financial advice from one of the debt advice charities yet? If not then that would be a good place for her to start - IMPORTANT - Where to seek professional impartial advice about your debts. and they will advise if a DRO is most suitable for her and whether she would be eligible.
