    Hello,

This is my first time posting but I read the forums very often and have gained lots of good advice including the advice in this thread.

I am at my wits end and feel that applying for a DRO is my only way out but I am very worried and am unsure if I would be accepted.
I live in a rented flat and own nothing of value.

My debts amount to roughly 11.5k and I am unemployed and not claiming any benefits at the minute, this has all mounted up due to the past 2 years being extremely difficult in many ways. I have also been unable to pay any of my creditors for about 3 months.

I live with my partner who is paying for everything at the moment, and there is little left over at the end of the month, when applying for my DRO, would my SOA contain his information only? This is the only part that is confusing me.

Please help, I appreciate all advice given.

    Thankyou

I think your SOA only should relate to your own debts. So for instance if you split your electric bill you only factor your half into the table. You should only include YOUR debts (loans, credits cards etc) and not any joint ones you may have as they can't be included. (I think). Wait a while and Fat or Immoral will be along soon to give you more specialist advice.:D

There are various ways of doing a financial statement, the important thing is whichever way you do it, your disposable income needs to be less than £50 to qualify for a DRO. In your case it might be more realistic to do a 'whole household' FS. I would recommend speaking to someone, CAB, CCCS or national debtline who will advise you on the best way to do a FS in your personal circumstances.

Just be prepared to wait a bit with CCCS, they've got long waiting times!

You might want to do a SOA and post it on here, and go from there...
  • yes i did read in an earlier post about the waiting times, they must be inundated with calls, maybe the better option would be to visit my local cab.

I really need to sort out a soa, will have to sit down and go through everything which may take a while! so I think I will work on that over the weekend as I cannot ignore this any longer, the situation is getting worse and worse and I see no way out.

thanks both again and will post my soa as soon as possible

    Hi, just a quicky.

As i am on JSA i am still having to apply for work. One such job i have applied for is a Christmas Temp at Royal Mail. Where do i stand with regards to this where my DRO is concerned should i be offered a temproary job. A friend of mine said he was told he could work if it was on a temporary basis last year for another company which i gather he did and this wouldn't affect his DRO, which as far as i know it didn't.
