I'm considering a DRO after being on a DMP with CCCS for the past 15 months as I'm struggling, so can anyone tell me what happens in the application process ?

I gather that I have to send proof of income and a latest bank statement but I have a couple of other bank/saving accounts which I rarely use so would they want to see statements for those or is it just a statement from the bank account used on a day to day basis ?

If I have £200 in an old ISA as savings for emergencies would I have to give details of this or can I just say that my assets including savings are less than £300 ? I would probably have to use £90 of this for the DRO fee anyway.

Do CCCS use Experian for the credit report? If I have an upto date copy of my credit report from Experian can it be used or do CCCS have to apply for it ?

Do they need proof of expenditure such as utility bills, rent/board paid or do they just accept your figures if they are reasonable ?

    Thanks for any help.

Should be off the IS site 3 months after the end of moratorium.

Now time to start credit file clean up......follow the sticky for bankruptcy (the principal is the same).......alll creditors should be marking your debts as satisified or equivilant upon completion of the DRO.

  • Hi all

Heard about debt relief orders from Cab who said it would take 8 weeks for them to complete one so put me in touch with bains and earnst. Spoke to them and they sorted it out for me and order made about 5 weeks ago. I thought they were superb. Would recommend them.

    Here's another question...

If i have insurance on a number of cards and want to do a DRO could they argue that canceling the insurance would then leave you with more then £50 surplus cash and get a DRO application stopped...?

Good to hear. We definitely need opinions from both sides of the fence on this one, as if there ARE allegations of being pressure sold other less suitable options then these need reporting to the DRO Unit at the Insolvency Service who may wish to investigate whether B&E are still a competant authority to be able to do DROs.

    Hiya,

My husband and I are looking into this, for us to be able to clear all our debts (some in joint names and some individually) would we both have to get a DRO? Can we get them at the same time?

Yes, you'd need a DRO each. You could get them at the same time or staggered, depending on whether or not you need time to get the two lots of £90 together.
  • i'm looking at doing night courses and have been told I could get a ptg1 grant (which would pay for 3 quarters of the cost of the course)
I have been given 3 wholly different opinions today about whether this would cause a problem with my dro...

does anyone know where I would stand with this?

    Thanks in advance
