How lovely to hear from you IWRS. I well remember you and your tentative steps to getting free. It is really encouraging for all the newer quitters. Well done.
It's so nice when people pop back in to let us know how they are getting on and that they are free of nicotine. Brilliant.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Champix has done it's best now, the rest is up to me.
I did feel a bit ill off it today, but it is normal.

Hi all,
Still not fallen off the wagon and myself and fiance are still committed to never going backI must say that the e-cigs are really helping with the pub cravings (feels like a fag and gives you something to do with your hands so you don't cave in) and we plan to phase even those out over the next month or so.

I have recently found out that I have emphysema, and chronic asthma.
The trouble is I have smoked for the last 20 some years, I did stop when I was was pregnant, but to tell the truth the children were probably less than an hour old when I had my first cig after their birth.
I know I have to give up otherwise I will never see any of my grandchildren, but to be honest I am scared. Its been like a friend to me, I know this sounds so silly, and I really would like to be able to get upstairs without needing to rest before I can get back down.
Because of other health issues the DR will not give me Champex, so I was thinking of the Allen Carr audio, but I'm not sure if I do this just once or listen to it everyday or what.

Hi Sanfran.
Sorry to hear of your health issues and your natural fear about letting go of something which has been so much a part of your life.
On this thread we have all been or are at some stage of where you are currently. We have done it and so can you.
If it could be of any use to you, I have a copy of the Allen Carr Easyway for Women and I would be more than happy to send it to you if you give me your address in a pm.
I have shared many times that I was a seriel quitter and had tried all sorts but had such a strong psychological attachment that I believed I could not live without my crutch.
Well the last time I stopped over a year ago now, I stopped with only a few patches, which I started to forget within a few days.
This thread has been the biggest help though. Everyone on here is so supportive and makes what could be a lonely and frustrating journey so much easier.
Let me know if you would like the book?
