Well done shel - not sure I would have been so strong on Day 2!

Yes! "Fresher and cleaner" is how I have felt since not smoking and it certainly has cut down on all the washing :) When I smoked, every bit of clothing was put in the wash basket at night and if going anywhere I would always change into something that did not smell of smoke. I spent a fortune on perfume to mask the smell.
    I am a non-smoker :j last cigarette 10th February 2010

I have noticed the smell more on clothes that are already washed and in my drawers:o I think I might have to treat myself to some new ones with the money I'm saving:D

My hands and hair already smell better as well.

    Hi guys

Shel & Jinky, I've been reading your thread about giving up. I came across it on Monday while I was in the middle of a huge coughing fit. Had this cough for avout a week now and it's driving me insane. But like all stupid smokers, I smoked on through the pain. However, by Monday the voice inside my head that told me I was a complete ****hole was too loud to be ignored. Anyway, I stopped and have been ok since then. Think about it a lot but not really missing them so far. Probably because I'm still coughing so much. Jinky, ignore the off-putting comments. Take it at your own pace and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Here's to everyone who wants to give up the weed for good. :T

Lovely to see you new people on here, Jinky, Shel and Ginga.

It really is fantastic to be free of nicotine and well worth those initial tough few weeks.

In my view, it is the peace of mind that is the real prize.

I went to see a smoking friend the other day, and I could smell the nicotine coming out of her house as I was walking up the path. It really is so pervasive.

I remember once an old lady giving me a pair of shoes (she was a heavy smoker) to try to sell on Ebay but there was no way I could ever have sold them, they absolutely stunk to high heaven.

Nothing, not even Febreze can beat that smell into submission!

Anyway all the best to you. :)

    Thanks larmy.

I honestly don't know how I would be if I was near or with a smoker right now but still doing well so far:T

Well fell of the wagon again today, I don't know why to be honest, I think I just got fed up trying and had one, then felt all !!!!ed off after I did, but I will not let the set me back, I am going to try again in the morn, I'm still wonder whether or not NRT is the best route, I started off on gum then little lozenges I don't know if they did any good, Someone told me today an electronic cig might be an option?

Keep going. Forgive yourself for any little setbacks. The addiction is strong but can be beaten. I'm sure I read on the OP that the nicotine leaves the body after three days. I'm glad I haven't tried NRT it just seems to be prolonging the agony to me:o I appreciate though that it's different for each of us.
