Afternoon all, Thanks for your kind words and encouragement Sue.
I had a good day yesterday but was very snappy in the evening, not because I wanted a ciggie but because I just felt ratty, hubby and kids were walking round with tin hats on!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Hubby has been so calm and just let me rant and rave bless him.........
The dry mouth has been replaced with a 'metally' taste in my mouth, don't know if its anything to do with quitting......... Will mention it to SSA at the clinic tomorrow. I got the munchies terrible last night, partly due to quitting ciggies and because im pre-menstrual lol, but I was very good and chomped on celery and carrot sticks:j.
I cant believe the amount of energy I have, I went to Tesco in the afternoon and anybody would have thought I was auditioning for Supermarket Sweep!! ( I hate food shopping by the way).
Hope you're all having a good day!!!!!Quit Day - 8th July 2009.0 -
Gosh - not visited MSE in months! I'm just coming up to 6 months quit :j:j:j I'm at the point now where I find the stink of smoke really offensive. It's all in the mindset - I just wanted to quit more than anything else in the world, and haven't once felt 'deprived'.

Hi everyone! More wonderful news I see, it's always a good day to see so many great reports of success - even if it's only a couple of days, it is fantastic!!!:j
Very well done costaerer!! Keep thought of the holiday in mind, your health too! All the best to you both.
You're welcome kezzae, glad to be some help. Your DH is obviously letting you get it all out of your system, especially as he knows you're pmt, bless him. :A The youngsters will very soon understand and be so grateful you've quit shortly. They hear all the bad things about it at school and worry about their folk, naturally, so good for you! The 'metally' taste is all part of quitting and has been mentioned by so many on both of the threads we've had, it'll soon pass kezza, the munchies problem too!
Very many congratulations on such great accomplishments frugalpam, skr80 and Dreamingalound!!! :T:T:T You've all done brilliantly, especially with 6 months behind you Pam and skr!!! :j I know what you mean about wanting to quit more than anything else in the world Pam, you're succeeding so well! Is your young lass still free from it as well Dreaming?
Great news about your 2 & 1/2 weeks Puzzled, especially since you've been on your hols! :T It looks as though you;re having similar problems to sparky with your lappies! Good luck in getting it fixed or it sorting itself.
Keep strong everyone and keep it up, and NEVER be tempted for 'just one puff' as you'll always regret it straight away! Stay free of nick and be smoke-free and get your lives back!

Morning All!! I hope you're all well.......
It's day 7 and £77 in the pot!!!!:j:j
We went to the NSC last night and we blew a 1 on the meter:j:j I can't believe the difference, I hit 21 last week and hubby 26!!!!!:eek::eek:.
Im still feeling great, if still a bit snappy.......... but that is fading, slowly. I'm still loving waking up in the morning and being wide eyed instead of sluggish. I can't beleive all the time I wasted standing about smoking, I feel like there a few extra hours added to my day now!!
Got to dash now and do the school run but will check back on you all later.
Have a good day!!!:D:DQuit Day - 8th July 2009.0 -
Hi guys, just returned from my holidays yesterday and pleased to report I am still a happy non smoker.
I have to admit that once or twice my thoughts strayed to how that 'one' cigarette was always so good, but swiftly remembered that one leads to more and how I'm free and it would not be worth it. Those thoughts lasted only seconds.
Keep up the good work peeps.
Just in case I've been affected in some way or my thoughts meant a hint of complacency sinking in I will be rereading some of the book this week just to keep things fresh in my mind.
I am, however, healthier and happier being a non smoker.0 -
Can I join this as well! I've been smoking for about 8 years but have decided that now is the time to quit.
The cost is getting rediculous and I have been smoking as much as 20 a day. With a few credit cards to pay off, the extra money would help pay these off. I put together a spreadsheet of what I was buying as I ended up in the red each month, and it seems that everytime I went to buy fags, I would buy other stuff too, so spending roughly £10 per day!!!!
Anyway, its been 28 hours since my last fag, and I can't believe how refreshed I feel - no more groggy feeling in the morning! Lets hope it lasts!
The problem I'm having at the moment is finding something to take my mind off it. I've never smoked in the house - always at the back door, but I'm finding the hardest time is when I'm driving, as I have always automatically lit up as soon as I get in the car, so finding that very very hard at the moment.
Everyone on here seems to be doing very well, so I'm sure I'll be a regular visitor to this thread!0 -
Just to let you all know i'm still here! And all those who know me have survived me quitting, only just! lol i am finding it really hard though
Hopefully this craving feeling goes away eventually?? Not sure i could cope with it all my life lol
