Morning,
It was me that was looking into shared ownership the other week, and its a bit of rip off. The houses/flats are well over priced than the normal private places for sale. But it is good if you cant get on the ladder. Its better than paying rent to a landlord so he can pay his mortgage off though as your paying to buy half the place so its not dead money.
Lilmiss OH's CCJ doesnt come off until Nov 2010!!!!! I didnt know how bad they are on your credit history. I thought we would just have to get a bigger deposit than people with good credit history to buy. But i was very wrong, normal banks wont even touch him for a mortgage, and special banks want massive monthly payments that we would not be able to afford.
Then renting...i didnt know they did a history check on renting!....and charge you for it! They dont want OH renting from them as his seen as a risk to not paying.
The CCJ was for £60 DVLA fine for not paying his car tax on time and not putting it own as SORN 4 years ago when he was a silly teenager! They never informed him of the CCJ they had been put on his history so it never got paid within the month where you can have it taken off.
So we're left not knowing what to do, and im feeling down as we was going to start trying for a baby FEB.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

Morning all. I have been really productive this morning, two review written, one posted. Off to the supermarket in a mo.
The shared ownership sounds good to get on the ladder but make sre you can buy in a few years of you are able to etc.
Maria how annoying about the CCJ for such a minor thing too, that's rubbish.

Jen I think you need to get a mortgage sorted before you think about what offers to make etc - will happily admit I know NOTHING about shared ownership though - never qualified for them myself. At the moment it can be a pain getting mortgages unless you have a decent deposit - no idea how it works with shared though... You might want to ask them on the mortgage board?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Thanks mrstine
i will try and get an appointment this week to find out how much i can get and what the repayments will be.
i love the way the house market is slow when i bought my first house it was mental i was looking at houses in the morning and they were sold by the afternoon! At least i can take my time!! I do think £155 will be out my reach a bit so i was wondering what people would offer to see if it was closer to what i can afford?!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Morning everyone,
That's a shame Maria, if you want a baby so much then try, even if you got pregnant straight away you'd still only have to have the baby share with you for the first year or so. Granted I don't know a lot about babies, but it sounds doable.
Am leaving for London in about an hour, unfortunately talking to my mum last night made me quite upset, so I kept crying & my eyes are still puffy. For some reason she got angry at me for being upset and basically started a fight with herself which was a bit stupid. It's all to do with us probably being thrown out of our house because of my mum running off.
She kept saying I'd be able to get a council house because I haven't intentionally made myself homeless, but I don't want any house, I've lived here since I was 18 months old and I'll be 23 soon, I have really bad issues with moving and expect I'll get depression if I'm forced out. Also, I don't want to be put in Broadfield which is what would likely happen, I live in Bewbush which is a pretty bad area, but Broadfield is even worse, I'd literally stay at home all day for fear of leaving the house. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.470 -
oh Nikki hun i know how you feel about moving i had some fantastic times in my old house and i got so down when i was forced to move. my ex made me move which is why we split up in the end i loved him so much but he was so selfish about moving and i hate him for making me move. i hope you can stay put.
Dawn having a baby share with you would be fine for 18 months. in fact you will probably want the baby in with you to start with so if you want to then do it you never know how long it could take. My mate has been trying 10 years!!:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Jen- To get a mortgage at the mo you need at least a 20% deposit of £155k...anyone good at maths as im not! But i know it will be alot.
Nicki- Thanks. I still live with my parents and ive already talked about it with my parents and my dad would not let me live at home with a baby.He doesnt even like me living there now! lol. My parents have also told me to go on the housing list and so has my doctor because of the damp and mould in my parents house and room is effecting my asthma. But im like you i have friends in council housing/HA and ive seen where they get put to live! But then some people get great luck and get put in new builds!
But i am putting our names down now as im not sure what esle we can do now.Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750
