    Hello nelski and welcome :D

I am going for 10 days again in May please BB. It is half term and not sure how that will affect me as I don't know yet what we're dong and I would rather set a lower target and meet/exceed it that a higher target and not reach it IYSWIM

    Hi all

Lots of interestng stuff on here today

I agree with so many of you

I printed out Bis's poem - the thing about it that struck me the most was - I don't like the person in the glass and it got me to thinking - why would I want to please that person - I dont like them (me).

That bit needs to change - cos its right enough - because at the end of the day I am not only cheating myself I am cheating those around me too.

Anyway onwards and upwards - 20 for me when the scores go on the doors

Hoping to do 3 more AFD's this month - but will see.

Small steps. woo hoo I got a jumping man - :)

Well done Fay 20 days is great !

    Hi guys,

Firstly Nelski welcome and great news that you are joining our May challenge :D Hopefully you will want to stay for the rest of the year ;) Just give some thought to what target you think you can manage?

Don't feel under any pressure to set one that is too high, you can as Wbf has done set a lower more managable one and then build from there as she has done fantastically well using this method, basically it is whatever feels right for you? Btw Wbf well done on going for 12 in May :T and Winebox 10 for you, great going :T Fb 10 for you too, :T Keep posting those targets. though Mp and Eselt I know yours ;) Bhb now are you going for 31? xxxxxxx

So welcome aboard and good luck xxxxxxx

Thanks also to the members that have posted targets so far :D Fay 31 I am impressed ;)

Jo where are you? Hope you are not bimbling with my: Obi one Kenobi? Dear Lurky you have to join me in May, how could you not?

Hugs to everyone else and any lurkers out there you could join too ;)

Take care and look after yourselves

    :hello:AF10 for me please HS.

Crawled up to my target this evening with great difficulty. I'm past having to keep a drink in my hand at all times as I was when we started but there are times when I so fancy a glass of wine. Tonight I had a stressy period earlier on (nothing serious) and then finished a pile of stuff I needed to get done. On both occasions I felt I deserved a little reward and tea just doesn't hit the spot!

I have analysed hard (with the help of all you lovely people) what works for me and having a target of AF days is best. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with just the one glass. I know that posting has helped me but I probably could keep it up on my own now (setting private targets) but I'd rather not. This thread does make me think about alcohol but mainly just when I want to drink it i.e. not all day, just when the bells ring and then it's the positive effect of the feeling I'm not on my own.

I'm going for a low target again in May as I want to leave myself 'spare' days for any social events that come up. I'm also very strict with myself as my other rule is 'no drinking on ordinary weekdays at home', so unless I go out or we have people round (Beware of walking past my house as I might drag you in for supper and a glass!:rotfl:) then I won't use my 'spare' days. 10 day target again for me in May please BB.

A huge thank you to HS for scoring during April.:T Well done everybody who is at their target or almost there. And a very well done to everyone for each and every AF day.:A Onwards and upwards!
  • Morning
Thanks BB for your words. Usually the build up to such anniversaries are worse than the day itself so I'm holding tight on to what I do have.
The extra little things that you mention to become a better me are exactly what I'm doing, and coupled getting the little things done it feels so much better.
Okay I'm only on day 2 AF but after two nights excellent worthy sleep I feel calmer. And pleased in the knowledge that tonight I will be able to stay awake throughout the apprentice instead of falling asleep halfway through and have to watch the last 20 minutes on iplayer tomorrow morning !

I'm afraid I'm on the naughty bench this morning. You see, I was on this wagon and it went over a pothole. There was such a big bump and I fell off the back! Everybody on board tried to grab my hand but no, there I was, sitting in the dust. However, I picked myself up after a good night's sleep (there was a comfy ditch to sleep in). The wagon had only gone a few yards and everyone was calling to me to jump right on up again. I didn't even have to make a big jump as there were loads of hands reaching out to pull me on board. I've even got my old seat back - the one with the comfy cushion....

Phew! Here I am - back on board. I'm holding on tightly this time:T

    Morning all :D

:D You are funy lillibet :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sorry you fell off the wagon. I hope you didn't hurt yourself too much :D:rolleyes:
Welcome back on board though and hang on tight - bank holiday weekend coming up so could be a bumpy ride for some of us

Maman I think we have similar AF strategies don't we? :D

I reckon I could go it alone now too, but I won't, not for a long time yet :D

Have a good day everyone xx
  • I have just been given two bottles of wine - nice thought.

They were accompanied by the 'I know you are trying to keep off it a bit but you don't have to drink it all at once'.

    Wine and empathy nice eh??

LD - Having fallen off the wagon alot - I find a cushion helps (for getting back on) and some spikey keys in my pocket to make me think twice about falling off again cos it hurts!

MP sometimes gets her whip out (ooooh painful) and I am sure BB will just employ superglue so if she hands you something to hold on to then the force of the support will stick like superglue :)

Stressed out haven't been paid - might be 2 weeks now - argh.

    Apols for the moan

Waves merrily (wine still closed) to all.

Wine in the house will have to leave or it will need an iron resolve. methinks it will jsut leave. Safer that way!. x

    Morning everyone.

The sun is shining and I am also sitting on the naughty bench. More wine last night. So no points for me today HS.

BB - please put me down for 31 in May. I may as well aim high !!. I also want to lose 1/2 stone so I am hoping not drinking might help,

    Have a lovely day everyone
