Not AF today but I woke up this morning with a sore throat, temperature etc etc I know we go in for sharing on here but this is ridiculous!

maz, how you cope with social occasions will depend whether you're a giver-up or a cutter-down? As a cutter-down, I sit with my diary/calendar at the start of the month and decide how many days I'm likely to be socialising with alcohol involved and then set my target. I have a rule that I won't drink at home on 'ordinary' nights in because my aim is to stop just opening a bottle every night like I've done for at least the past 10 years so any AF days are a bonus! As for being an embarrassment on drinking nights, I do find that having some AF nights helps me cut down on drinking nights. It's partly because I get to hate that hung-over feeling and also the Kudzu that some of us are taking. HTH.

    Love to all.:A

Its quiet on here tonight - must have been my Frank Spencer impression that has put everyone off :rotfl:

    BHB

Wish I'd been on here last night instead of necking wine. I'm now awake and feeling sick and headachy as a result. The other days since I posted were drinking days too, but this one has had a high price hangover wise whereas I just felt a bit tired after the other two.

Onwards and upwards. Hope everyone else is having a well deserved and good nights sleep!

morning all. had four cans of carlsberg last night....OH then produced a can on strongbow but i looked and the units (nearly 3 in one can!) and declined.

4 might seem a lot....but i've been known to have 8 in one night. i'm gonna try to go AF tonight. x

    Good morning everybody,

Budgie...glad you are feeling a bit better. You were only away for one day but we really missed you.

Maman and WBF...its was my last hangover that made me quit for good.I felt sooooooooooo ill.I wanted to die.I just think about that now anytime I get the call.It soon puts me off.

Welldone FUAS and Dot on cutting down.Remember ...small steps.

Fay...I think you need to take one day at a time.Lock your purse away if thats what it takes....Just keep telling yourself that you can do this NOW.
    Remember...Life is for living...not drinking.;)

    Have a lovely day .

this is so true, when I've woken up feeling bright and breezy for a few days I dread getting that hungover sluggish feeling (or worse, the waking at 4.00 am wseating and shaking)....doesn't stop me drinking sometimes though:embarasse

Not AF yesterday as I had a small glass of wine but I still feel good this morning.
off to get my hair done now so catch you later...
