    Phew,

Glad I got it right ;)

So pleased that you have had a good time away, but pleased you are back now :T Sorry the cakes late though, but its still fresh. Honestly :D

Btw I don't think I put over correctly what I wanted to say, re: the quote: "is it worth it." What I meant to say was is it worth it to spoil everything by having a drink? Because I think it will defeat how well I have done so far.

On a positive note because I am not drinking and I now exercise regularly my doctor may reduce one of my blood pressure tablets? She is reviewing this in a months time, but that would be great to see some health benefits

So well done again and me thinks it will be more cake on Tuesday. I think at this rate that you will need to drop in on the grabbit board to see if there are any special offers on: Slimfast?. Or just pick off the icing? :rotfl:

    Well done Angel
    Love n hugs

    Morning all,

I would say good morning except I have a hangover and feel really stupid.

Friday was alcohol free and then Saturday the neighbours came round for dinner and I had a few glasses of wine - nothing excessive and bed at a good time. Then last night we finished the bottle - just half a glass each - and then opened ANOTHER. I ended up sitting up watching rubbish on the TV until the early hours whilst drinking - in total I think I must have had at least a bottle, probably a couple of glasses more.

I feel really cross with myself because it's going to be a lovely day, the kids are on holiday and I have tonnes of stuff to do but I'll end up moping around feeling like carp until the hangover clears. What a waste and I am finding myself in this position more and more.

So, I shall pick myself up and try again...

Sorry, this post is a bit self obsessed, but I really feel the need to 'confess' and work out what on earth I am doing.

Have a good day folks and see you all later.

    Good morning all!

Pariskate - don't beat yourself up over it. I've lost count of the days I've spent with hangovers when out and about with the kids. Looking back now, I really regret it. I enjoy my time with my family SO much more than my time with a bottle of wine. Just pick yourself up and start again. You CAN do this!

Mollypolly - A Belated happy birthday! Glad you had a lovely time!

Happy Shopper - 5 for me please!

Had a lovely weekend here. Weather was gorgeous. Saturday afternoon OH took the kids out to the park and I settled into a chair in the garden with a book. OH text me to ask if I wanted a bottle of wine bringing home to enjoy in the garden. I said no!! I didn't even consider yes as an answer. Now I know this won't always happen with me but a bottle of wine used to be an integral part of a saturday afternoon/evening in a warm garden! So I'm proud of myself at the moment. Like I say, there are times when I WILL have that wine but I'm hoping I've knocked the afternoon drinking on the head.

Next weekend we don't have he stepkids on the saturday night so me and OH are having a nice meal together when Piglet gone to bed. I'll probably have a couple of glasses then but hopefully nowhere near the two bottles I would normally polish off. Fingers crossed.

Have good days everyone, Hugs to all those that are struggling!

    Miss P
    xx

    Hi BB,
LOL, you did get it right...all of it.
I have had a lovely time away and wasnt even tempted to have any alcohol although I thought I might be....I just kept thinking of the hangover that nearly ruined last years celebrations...and thought...never again.
Everyone is doing so well on here with the challenges and I feel so proud to be a part of all this.
As for my sig..I am glad that it encourages others to be AF.That was something that has kept me going...knowing I would have to explain myself on here...and believe me Being Alcohol Free 'IS WORTH IT'.
Only one more day now and my year is up....how time flies..
Thanks for your praise and good wishes, and I really couldnt have done this without everyones support on here.
    You really are all wonderful!!!
Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying the weekend.
    Take care
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

    Well done mollypolly

    Good morning everybody,
    Hope you are all ok.

Pariskate.I hope you soon feel better. Hangovers are the main reason that I wanted to finish with alcohol. It seemed the older I got, the worse they got.So much time wasted.....Just put it behind you.I am sure you will soon get to where you want to be with the help on here.

Miss Piggy. :TWell done on saying no to the wine in the garden. That was one of my downfalls...sunny day...BBQ...wine.But I now have alcohol free wine or AF beer at times like this.

By the way..DD1 bought me a bottle of Sainsburys Sparkling AF wine for my birthday and it was really nice...not too sweet.Good for anyone doing AF celebrations.

    Have a good day all

Happyshopper - Please add another AFD for me ( now 3 in total)

I am really pleased and surprised with myself . My original plan was to have alcohol on Sat ( my anniversary) and Sun ( my son's B'day and we were going to TGI Fridays) . HOWEVER I fell off the wagon badly on Friday night so badly that I had a massive row with my husband ( not good the day before your wedding anniversary!!) Anyway after a few hours of looking at each other sideways on Sat we decided we would cook our meal and have the alcohol as planned . It ended up being a really nice evening and ended up being quite romantic :T. So yesterday I decided I wanted to get back on track and decided NOT to drink . Instead I had 2 glasses of lemonade . This is unheard of for me as usually I would have 2 glasses of wine probably costing about £4 per glass. The good news is that the lemonade was £1.89 with unlimited refills - a good result all round.

It just shows how much being a part of this forum is helping me . Thanks everyone. I missed you all over the weekend.

    Have a great day.
