    Hahaha tumbleweed good one YM.:rotfl:

It sounds nice sitting there watching telly with your dogs Budget Babe and Needstochange, very sweet!

Spookily quiet on here still, I don't know why but I woke up really early and have decided to do some housework but it feels like the whole world is asleep right now.

Not sure if I am having an AFD yet, I am going for a pub lunch later (if I don't end up having a kip later this afternoon being up so early!) and I might have a couple of pints in the pub.
I hope everyone is okay (wherever you are all hiding!:D ) :A Maybe people were celebrating Burns night as it was this weekend I think?

to be fair I did have an offer to go out but I really really wanted to be AF and I think my weak willed jelly belly personality would have given in too easily so the couch won!

Quietly Wanders off cos its very spooky in here when nobodys here:o
    Have a good day everyone

  • Hi all - hope you're all fine and dandy!

I had a couple of glasses of red last night, because I spent yesterday shopping with daughters in Oxford Street, and was so exhausted after traisping around all day when we went for dinner afterwards I just couldn't resist!

Defo AF for me today - and hopefully up until next Friday!

    Take care all

The haggis is in the fridge ...... 'twas bloody hard to catch the little blighter :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The pot goes on at 6pm :D

On the drink front - a bit over this week as had a really bad day Tuesday and drank half my weekly units in one night :o
Any old excuse hey. I know it was down to me and not the situation but cutting down slowly overall so in the right direction.

Mrs BHB and I have now developed an expensive habit .... champagne and Brut / imititation champagne :o

We have noticed that the stuff we have been drinking costs not much more than a bottle of red or a few cans and works out at 4 units each if we argue over the last glass :rotfl:

Might just stick to that this coming week

    Have a great week
    Keep up the good work

Na na na na na You know how it goes.

    Take Care my friends

Not drinking can seem boring sometimes, though you're busy and doing stuff, you are rarely bored. Sobriety gives you more free time, so you need to fill it with stuff to do.

It is easy to glamorise drinking, and then you get into the mindset that everyone else is having a better time than you.
However, my reality was I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
Tired of the headaches, the sick feeling in my stomach, the lying, wet beds, and trouble at home & work.
    I mustn't forget why I stopped drinking.
If I pick up a drink, my past becomes my future

Thank you - this is what I must remember, summed up perfectly.

Thanks Eselt had a good night. Had a couple of tsing tso beers which were very nice and then a few glasses of wine. Took it fairly easy though, and could feel the effects much more than I would have done last month on an equivalent amount of alcohol.

Something that was different though, was that I was drinking because I wanted to, to socialise and to enjoy it - rather than to get pi**ed, which has often been the objective in the past. There have been things that I have wanted to escape from and the drink has solved that in the past. But I don't want that going forward, and fortunately I think I am now in a better place where I won't be needing it.

So today I am back on the wagon, thanks for saving my place everyone; and will see things through now to the end of the month.

    23/24 for me Lurkio.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. Does anyone know if this is the first weekend in the year when everyone goes out and does stuff (after the low wednesday we had last week) cos the thread has certainly been quiet this weekend!
