Hi pinky
just popped in 2 say hi. The "preparing for winter" thread is very looong, but some really good ideas on there. Also, have you thought about investing in a slow cooker? I have one (but 2bh dont use it much) you could do a big pan of stew, and freeze half? It wouldn't cost that much more and would be handy for when you are too tired to cook, or busy with litlte ones.

Evening all - Not much to report of the debt busting front.
Have had to abandon the £250 credit card payment this month as car tax is due. So it will be £120 this month boo hoo!!
I am paying the car tax for 6 months and have started saving up stamps so next year I can afford the full year and continue saving in advance!
Still not quite in overdraft yet so fingers crossed. Still ebaying so hopefully will help especailly as it is uncle's bd at end of the month which means a pressie and a meal out. feeling a bit tired and wondering if it will ever all be paid - I feel like we are going to be skint forever and all at our on doing -

Haven't posted on my diary for a bit however it does not mean I've not been money saving. So far we have been very busy -
- Started collecting £10 tax stamps for next year so not such as surprise.
-Work out what car servicing etc costs us and have started putting a bit away in a seperate account each month.
- Applied for a new Ccard to transfer to 0% for 9 months (hopefully be paid off by the end!)
- Sold lots on ebay and started using the money to buy stocking fillers for kids for xmas.
- Worked out monthly overtime aim to cover last short break payment due next month - target was £400 and we have so far done enough overtime to bring it to just £170 -yey.
-Overtime next month will hopefully pay for rest of xmas pressies.
- Bought box files and busy sorting through, shredding and stapling things to be kept. we are labelling all boxes so we know where to find stuff.
Today - 2 hours overtime
- collect tax credits £250 to come off credit card bills yey!
- Buy some cheap wrapping paper for bd's coming up!
- List another 4 items on ebay when kids are in bed!
- Meal done for tonight already I need to finish my meal plan for the rest of the week!
So I have def stuck to MS!! and feeling a little more positive today about it - espesially when I realise how much money we have wasted in the past- Nevermind onwards and upwards I am starting to see the light!!!!:rotfl:

Well heres an update - would love to say I have made progress but I have and then havent. I have reduce outgoings and food loads and manager to pat off half my next bill. I have enough to cover xmas but.... found the ccard we had got rid of DH was still using it!! So when I totted up what we owe its up to £4500!!! Am so peed off! Anyway managed to get it tranferred to a 0% card. I also managed to pay another £900 off my original debt so had nearly got rid. So now DH not allowed a card at all. I have also applied for a new job so hopefully more hours and more money to throw at debts. So heres what I am going to do - keep on the path of DFW and in Jan after xmas redo my SOA - which hopefully will set me to pay the CCard off by the end of 2010 - so here goes ........................:jNov 2012 - Loan £1200, CC1 £1450

Hi pinky, nice to see you are still posting. Sorry to here about your set back, men, can't live with them, can't legally kill them!!;)

Well gonna update my signature in a bit bet you thought it should be going down - hands up wasn't my fault!!
Anyway we are overdrawn in both accounts but my overtime should cover one this month and put us back on an equal footing. I have £200 saved for a few xmas pressies - will try and make it stretch!
I have sorted a few bits for ebay which I will aim to get on over the weekend. Was hoping DH would get a bonus this year - but aint gonna happen. Our last holiday payment will come out at the end of the month then thats it tent and caravan for next year or until ccard paid off- am quite looking forward to it actually.
We are trying to live out of the freezer till payday - hopefully we can try and blag a few meals at parents !:T
Am feeling really down at the mo as feel like Dh has put my plan back a year and I am finding it so hard to get motivated - hey ho onto another day!!

Sorry to hear about your setback. At least you are trying to be positive and tackling the problem. Hope you do well with e bay sales. Good luck

ps your family sound very supportive, I'm sure they will throw you a few crusts!0 -
Had a NS day today but am going to blow the budget and get some chips tonight - whoo hoo - exciting eh??
My childcare will be £40 less next month so will pay some more off the Next bill with that. Have asked all the family for money or vouchers so I can stock up on clothes for kids in sale then will use carboot from spring time to top anything else up we need. Funny things is after credit card and loans are paid off we should be comfortable. Will keep you updated on the job front hopefully a few extra hours will help!

Right have had another crack at the SOA. All the insurances and car maintence etc I transfer £100 into an account each month for so when the payment is due the money is there. This then means I can go through quidco and have the cash to pay. Last year we put these on the Ccards and so this year we can actually pay for them.
In jan I am going to get a freeview box and get shot of sky, I will again shop around for house insurance etc. I reckon when lo is out of nappies I can easily reduce my grocery bill to £250. This month we have only spent £180 on food and are living out the freezers. When my pay goe's in this month I will clear the overdraft and have enough for the month!
DH has some overtime linked up and we have decided to do as much as poss to pay off the ccard! Then we can start paying more off the loan. Ohh £370 per month we will be better off when these are paid - feeling a little excited at what we could do with that money. Still no word on the other job but may ask around and see if there is any xmas cover going. Have sorted a few more things for ebay and I am now off to check my quidco account!!!:T
