  • Hi Good People of the PAD

Been missing you sooo much over the last couple of days (busy with work etc), have had to pop in to get my fix :o . I wasn't planning to make a PAD, but after catching up on the thread (tho still haven't got to the google thingy???), I felt I didn't want to be left out, so PAD of £4.21 for me today...and it feels good!

I've been holding the purse-strings very tight this month, and for the first time EVER, I think we may end the month in credit :j . I'm so excited, I don't think I've ever had a month where we've consciously lived within our means, and that's with making PADs too :T .

It's made me even more determined for next month - which is going to be very tight as have MOT and tax, and also DD2's birthday. But for once, I feel confident that we can do it!

So, a BIG thank you for all the motivation on this thread, it's amazing! :D

congrats dankosheemo! well done on getting the place :)

and i want to sell some books like yours flower08 - what a good amount for only 2!

shame about the price of your new glasses, gilly. mine (exceedingly high prescription, ultra thin ultra light lenses blah blah blah)were about that about 8 years ago (!) - they are on their complete last legs now but the nice man at specsavers keeps mending them for me when they break - they are rimless ones and the screws keep falling out. the only thing preventing me from a new pair is knowing how much they will cost. i wear contact lenses a lot of the time but always like my glasses by early evening as my eyes get tired...

Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

  • Sorry not had time to post but have continued my PAD.

Since my last post I have done £5.19+£5.20+£5.21 = £15.60

Just noticed that since yesterday Barclaycard have increased my credit limit to £8000 from £6000.

I think they are getting worried about all my payments, they know I want to clear it so what better way to 'help' but to increase my limit so I can spend some more on it!!!

And these are the barstewards who would not accept my Balance Transfer just before Xmas because I was a day out!! Grrrr!!

Yep. If you can afford to do it, the best way to vote is with your feet i.e. do as little business as possible with financial disservice companies who treat you badly.
MBNA jacked my rate up to 34.9%. However, I had other places to transfer to. So i did. We seem to have reached an impasse. I've stopped spending and have a zero balance on their cards. They've stopped sending me those low interest or zero % time limited deals. Looks like a battle of who is going to blink first. Silly really. If they had offered me a LOB deal at a fair rate they would still be making money from me. I suppose their next trick will be to close my accounts or slash my limits. They usually send a deal this time of year as I'm self-employed and they know the tax bill is approaching. Maybe they're even more skint than me :D

Did a long post last night but klost it - Grrr! Still, It was useful because I actually worked out exactly how much I owe in total. Had not really done that before and it was pretty grisly when I saw the final figure. Just trying to remember off-hand, all my notes are at home, but anyway:

    Hi ,
It's a real pain when you have typed out a long post and it just vanishes , I type mine into " wordpad " 1st and then copy & paste it into here ...... At least that way if it disappears when you " submit " it you will still have a copy ....
