Hi all
Mam is having a bit of a lay in so I've got a bit of time to myself and thought I'd touch base.
Hope everyone is well and keeping out of this miserable weather. Can't believe the difference from yesterday - My two sisters and I went to pick blackberries and it was lovely and sunny, with just a nice breeze. Between the three of us we picked over seven and a half pounds is less than an hour :T Had a lovely crumble for desert last night, and froze the rest. Edith took a few up home (she has most of her meals at my house anyway) but Kathleen wouldn't take any - as usual said she's no good at baking and would rather take the completed crumble home.... For goodness sake how hard is it to make a crumble? So will have to have one ready when she comes to take me shopping on Friday
Have had really bad shoulders for a few days so have been laying off the knitting a little till they ease off a bit. Doing a little here and there but not as much as I'd like. Really boring though, especially now the cricket has finished
Just sitting here watching the antics of the birds in the flowering cherry just outside my window. I have two seed feeders and a few fat balls in there, and there was so many birds coming that I started throwing half a bag of seed under the tree each day... only trouble is the stuff started sprouting all over, then when it got really wet it started to ferment... The smell . In the end had to get my brother to clear it all up(didn't think 'I'd' no it now did you?)
. He's built a huge wooden tray there now and it's easy enough to keep clearing the old stuff out. There must be about 50 birds there at the moment - mostly sparrows, dunnocks, and starlings, but we get green finches, gold finches, tits, and a pair of collared doves too. Strangely enough the robins and blackbirds seem to prefer the back garden where I don't even put food out
.
Well I've waffled enough for now, so off to do the chores.
Take care everyone.

i would think a phone cosy pattern would be ideal there are loads of free patterns about for them,
the one i made was just a free cover kit from a cross stitch mag it was meant to be a lavender bag but got adopted as a tooth bag by my eldest and the other just called it the tooth bag after that. id just finished making it when she got her first wobbly tooth so she asked if the fairy would be able to get the tooth out if she put it under her pillow in that. ive often found little notes in it for the fairy along with the tooth.;)SPC~12 ot 124

I've sorted the toy box out, they'd put all the toys in but the overflow was like a mountain stuck on top, it just needed placing in right

Afternoon all. What a miserable, miserable day. I don't think its stopped raining here since about 6 this morning. I just want to be at home, in front of the fire with a hot chocolate and my knitting - but unfortunately, here I am stuck at work....
Ah well, soon be half three and then I can go!!
Will pop back later.

Lorna my bird tree is a white lilac, stuff hangs from it like christmas tree but I love watching them and we get a wonderful variety of birds. Unfortunately from January this year we get a couple of grey squirrels and although their antics are amusing they are hooligans.
Ann it's rained here all day as well, and very windy, quite depressing. Where does all this wind come from? Don't say the Russian Steppes.0 -
