I saw a tip on How clean is your house about freshening up old books so it might work for the wool - they put a couple of those tumble dryer sheets in with the book and tied them up in a plastic bag and just left it until the books didnt smell any more - might be worth trying?

Hi F1 tried the link but couldnt get the picture - also tried to paste the address to the search bar but unfortunately that didnt work either
Shezmit - parcel came today - will get them done asap
    hugs to everyone

foerget that I pressed refresh and it came up. It looks really good - was it hard to do?
  • DH wondered why I wasn't making any progress on the sewing of the new seat covers for the camper – so I made another start on them today but was soon bored and gave up after just one – carried on in the sweat shop (cold un-done-up-barn) doing some more ST's he only brought me a cuppa and caught me NOT doing camper seat covers oooooooppppps. So I did one more seat cover to make him happy, but its too cold now the sun has moved round. Decided I will come and do some knitting machine stuff

Had a lovely surprise today Kathy (Moiliere) rang me just to catch up – really lovely to speak to her.

Maytaurus That hug was much appreciated- re seeding this weekend, I hope NOT to be going away for the next few weeks so they should be safe

Jaqui (F1) I seem to remember the promise of long sunny days doing nothing but listen to the grass grow – prior to getting here, 15 years on and they are still to arrive, it helps to fill up the day if you just keep at it – or so I am told. Love your photograph, well done you following the instructions – I printed them off but haven't yet found the time or a half decent photo to try and post COWARD eh.

Anne (pippaS) put the first ball down tot he toes on the tights tie a knot or a piece of string, add the next one, tie a piece of string or tie a knot and so on up the leggies then stuff the lot in the washing machine with some seriously smelly washing powder. My mother did this with some wool that she had donated (yonks ago – when it was stockings OOO LA LA) Or you could add some essential oil on a hanky/cloth and seal it all in a poly bag for a few days?

Shaz (shazrobo) fingers crossed for your new beginning, hope DS managed OK on his first day back

Hope you ALL have a great weekend, with only good weather and lots of relaxing. Chalky Ilove those wee hedgehoggies, I am going to have a rake in the local shop for some of the eye lash wool I take it that it just looks like barbed wire on a roll before it gets knitted up?

Hi all - I've just enjoyed a couple of hours crocheting hats and booties and watching Pride and Prejudice (for the umpteenth time - but that Colin Firth is irresistible!). I've still got more episodes to watch but thought I'd better get the dinner on.

F1Widow- that bunting looks lovely. I shall look forward to the pattern.

Chalky - your hedgies are gorgeous. They all look as if they have individual personalities.

I shall save the things I make and wait until I have a decent-sized parcel to send.

Well, I had a great chat with Jean (Roamin in the gloamin). She's always cheerful and has faced many of the French challenges that we are coming up against, so she gives me lots of encouragement out here!

We've had gloomy weather but the sun has made a feeble appearance so I've managed to get some washing on the line.

Anyway, I shall try and do some more crochet this evening. I'll probably update on Sunday evening or first thing Monday morning.

Hope you are all having a good Friday.

It’s lovely to see it busier on here again!
Pam, thank you for the crochet pattern – I’m looking forward to trying it.
Lucky you with the craft group Jaqui – do try the crochet. I knitted a sleeping bag the other day and at one point was confused because the yarn was in the “wrong” hand! A definite “la-la” moment. I think your bunting looks lovely, really pretty – well done you.
Ooh, you and that Colin again Kathy :rotfl:
Shaz, what good news. Fingers crossed for you and OH. Enjoy your crochet lesson.
Still working on my angel pocket. Did loads then had to frog it because it was sort of a rhombus shape :rotfl:
Hope everyone is happier than the miserable weather.
