Hi all - running a bit late this morning so will update when I've seen DH off the premises!

Maytaurus - thanks for all the info! You are a star!

Ainnoangel - your perserverence is wonderful; it won't be long before it all just clicks into place, I promise. I couldn't imagine a life without knitting! I find it relaxing at the end of a busy day (sometimes too relaxing because I fall asleep still knitting, according to DH!). It's very productive and lots of people can benefit from it, as you can see by the success of the thread!

Here are some links to sock monkeys http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Sock-Monkey

    and here http://www.web-goddess.org/writing/tutorial/Image0.html

    and here http://www.sockmonkey.net/How_To_Make_Sock_Monkey.html

I've never made one because my sewing is not that good! Apparently, they can be made by hand or machine. They look really cute!

Anyway, thanks everyone for your latest totals. I shall update little later on this morning!

Hi all - DH dispatched off to work, some chores already done (not all of them, worst luck!) so I'm back on here to update.

Maytaurus - you are an angel for finding all the info that you post on here. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us.

  • morning all

    over the weekend i knitted
4 squares - must look for the addy to send these to, it the LH african appeal
    4 buntings
    1 vent hat
and found out how painful knitting can be, i nipped upstairs to get another ball of wool saw the wool on the floor didnt see someone had been in the room before me and left a cupboard door open as i result i walked straight into the corner of the open door (it felt like someone smashed me in the temples with a cricket bat) ive not got a bruise or swelling but still feel really weird. Unfortunately it didnt seem to knock any sense into me:rolleyes: .

going to try and get chalkys jumper finished this week - have we got a date they must be sent off by please?

Hi MrsMoneypenny - hope you're not feeling too sore. If you're feeling weird, you may be a bit concussed, so take care. You've been really busy, haven't you?! I update early in the mornings so your latest items will be added tomorrow. I find if I try and update too many times during the day, I confuse myself - and that's not difficult!

With Chalky's appeal, I think her sister is taking the items to Spain with her in April - I'm sure Chalky will be along later to let us have a best-before date!

    Hi Sheyo and Skywalker

Most of the knitting from here seems to go to either preemies uk or loving hands challenges. There are links to both on the very first posting of this thread. I believe Loving Hands will send wool and needles if necessary to you if you ask and they also have a list of new challenges if you can't decide what to knit next!

    Happy knitting

Hi Ainnoangel - Im relatively new here too and these wonderful ladies have helped me no end - some of my questions were completely errr "la la " to say the least - just to let you know I started with squares and have now progressed to hats/bootees/blankets all with the encouragement of "this lot" - now my cardmaking has taken a back seat and my wool bags are growing behind my chair!!! am now totally obsessed with wool - hmmm - am thinking need to go to "Wool Addicts Annoymous" - if you want any wool there are some bargains on Ebay or I have brought from my local charity shop (needles as well from charity shop) although once my mother in law found out that i was knitting a couple of bags came from her - much to her sons dismay !!!!
So good luck and well done - I never thought i could do it - I havemade my mother so proud because she tried teaching me when I was little only to have a huge knot thrown at her ha ha - Ive just made her a scarf (from ostrich wool) and she is over the moon!!
Take care f1widow - (jaqui) xx
