F1Widow - your post will be so encouraging to those learning to knit. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Knitting seems so daunting when you start to learn but it's really quite easy, once you know how! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has wool breeding behind the furniture. I'm constantly sorting mine out and trying to make it all look tidy!
Welcome to you Skywalker83 - if you join Loving Hands - www.lovinghands.org.uk - you can go on the forum and ask Lou (the lovely lady who runs it) to send you some wool. You can send her a private message if you want, or ask on the forum itself. I get a lot of my wool - and needles - from charity shops and I'm lucky enough to have a great wool shop nearby. EBay is good, too, and you could always ask on freecycle.
Sheyo - there are some patterns for mittens here http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/preemies.html#preemie-booties. If you look at the rest of this site, there are lots of other lovely patterns, too!
Hope everyone has a great day -I'm hoping to spend most of the afternoon knitting!

:j i knitted my first square!
i managed to cast on, knit, purl, cast off!!!
sooooooooo thrilled.
only trouble is... the square is 9 x 9 inches!!!! lol!!!
i might try to make it into a (rather large) bunny! but . . . i LOVE it!!i can knit a bit!
now i am ready to try smaller squares . . . and maybe i can contribute a few to your great causes0 -
Good morning everyone - lots of lovely updating to do; you've all been so busy.
Ainnoangel - well done on knitting your very first square! Even if it is big, it's great practice and will make a lovely bunny!
My trauma doll just needs a face now but I didn't do that bit last night because I'd rather use natural daylight for the fiddly bits. I'll do that sometime today and then decide what to make next. I must also tidy up my wool stash - it seems to take over everything!
Anyway - here are our latest running totals. Hope you all have a great day!

Oh, wow, Mrs Moneypenny - I'm so glad you went to the doctor. That must have been a huge whack! I hope you've warned the family about leaving cupboard doors open - I know what children and DHs are like! Take it easy, as the doctor has ordered. I'll add your squares in the morning when I next update.
