  • Hi all

well, lots of catchin up to do!

had a lovely weekend in Edinburgh watching the rugby (and our team actually won which makes a refreshing change at the moment!!) - did absolutely no knitting at all over the 3 days, and am making up for it now. Have decided to use all the wee bits and bobs at the bottom of bags and turn them into hats, so there will be a huge parcel of stretchy hats whizzing it's way to Lou shortly.

And DS has come down with the chickenpox (or chickenpops as he's calling it), so we're constantly checking DD for spots too! Guessing she is bound to catch it....

And I am one happy bunny as courier has just been and delivered my ACDC tickets for Wembley at the end of June!!! Wooo....!!!!!! Am sooooo excited! :j:j

The sun is shining too - what more can a girl ask for?!?

    Dawn x

Hi and welcome to soon2bjobless. The very first post on this thread will tell you what we do and there are links there to free patterns and so on. It's good to have you with us!

(((Hugs))) to Purpleteddybear's DS. Chickenpops can be miserable so I hope he's not too unwell.

I've just 'approved' a new member on Wooligans - all the way from Guatemala! I've sent her the link to this thread so hopefully she'll join us here. She knits squares to make into blankets for a local orphanage there; another great cause.

Well, I was MIA yesterday and this morning because I was asked to help out a friend with her work (she runs a fish and chip van here, which is doing very well) so I have only just got back.

I hope you are all well. I've managed to crochet a couple of pairs of booties but I'll post them off when I have a few more things.

    4 pairs of booties
    2 hats

There's more in a bag somewhere but I won't add them until I've found them!

Well, the weather is lovely here today but I haven't been able to make the most of the drying weather because I got back too late to hang it on the line!

Anyway, I have some work to do this afternoon, so I'll get on with that and hope to settle down to some more crochet this evening.

    Take care, everyone.

Hi , I don't normally post on here as I have a neighbour who takes all the stuff I make to the hospital where she works, but I read it every day, and especially enjoy Maytaurus' posts, so just wanted to say Happy Birthday Maytaurus.

Hi Kinsey and welcome to you. I agree with you about Maytaurus's posts - they brighten up every day! You can still join us here and have your name and items added to our regular updates - it doesn't matter where they go; every cause is a good cause.

    Maytaurus:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake: Have a great day!!

Well, I managed another pair of booties last night and would have done a few more, but my sister Skyped me so I had a lovely hour talking to her. Well, the sound disappeared for a while so we ended up writing messages and holding them up to the camera, then we ended up drawing ridiculous pictures so it all descended into chaos! Still, it was great seeing her.

I'm trying to get myself into a routine of waking up early, as I used to in the UK - I'm much more productive in the mornings so it works better for me that way. I need to get organised for when I take over the updating again - just hope I don't make as many mistakes as I used to!

It's yet another bank holiday here today - I've just printed off the list of French bank holidays and they have four this month! Everything closes on bank holidays so I had to nip out yesterday and get supplies in before the shops closed.

Pippa - yes, I do like to live things up! The good thing about having a friend in France with a fish and chip van, is that she orders things in bulk - both from France and the UK, and she can get things like English teabags and so on! She only started the van in January and is doing really well; she offers French food as well as fish and chips, but it's the fish and chips that are the most popular!

Anyway, off to put the kettle on again!

    See you all later.

Kinsey - welcome to the thread - I'm sure you'll enjoy being here.
    Have a good day everyone.

Will post my update later, although there isn't that much to report I'm afraid. Still, every little helps as they say.
