Hi everyone - you won't believe this but I'M BACK!!!! The final piece of the saga (the technician's visit) was put in place about half an hour ago; he connected everything up and, well, here I am. I'm so relieved but still in shock - I thought it was never going to happen!

Happy Birthday, Chalky! I hope you had a great day! I haven't caught up on everyone else's news yet but I will try and do that over the next few days. I also haven't done much knitting because we've been working on the house and garden - there's such a lot to do! I'll fill you in with all the details later - right now I have to go and cook the dinner! Some things never change, do they?

Hope you are all having a great day! I've missed you all more than you can know, and it's fantastic to be back. Mind you - with France Telecom's record, I hope it lasts!

    See you later.

Bonjour everyone:hello: and thanks for such a lovely welcome back! I still can't believe I'm back in the real world. I Skyped the children last night and it was lovely being able to see them while we chatted.

Jean - it would be great if you pm'd me your Skype name so we can see each other!

Well, I hope to get back into the swing of things over the next day or two - I really must sort my knitting out and get going with that. We're still unpacking - yesterday I started emptying all the boxes of books but seeing them back on the shelves has made it feel more like home here.

I'm going to need to spend some time reading the thread for the past few weeks - I expected to be back with you all on 26th March and now it's the 1st of May, so there's a lot of catching up to do!

Anyway, I'm off for a shower - having had two weeks here with no hot water, it's still a novelty to have it!

Will call back later. Hope you all have a great day - it's a bank holiday here so the whole of France is closed today! The weather is typical for a UK bank holiday - cool and damp! Just like home!

    See you later.
