Evening to you all. Pam I am sorry to hear about your cat, we loved our dog so much we were lost for ages when he was sadly put to sleep

Love the idea of an aquarium--- No !! Maytaurus that was not a challenge. I have been thinking about the lobster all day.

I have been to a friends for a lesson in shopping in a Spanish Butchers shop !!! Lots of BUENO and Muchas Bueno but it was a bit fast for me. Then a trip around her market ,a lovely lunch and then a Breadmaking lesson, hers is to die for

So you see the moral to this story is
just see what you can do if you are not addicted to KNITTING!! I did knit all the way up and down the mountain though !!

I just want to say I hope everyone on this thread is feeling well and happy.
Try and do a good deed every day.

really sorry to hear about your cat pam

been learning to crochet today, picked up the basic stitches ok, its just the start and ends of rows i'm having trouble with, they all over place instead of being straight.
resting tonight, as advised by nhs direct, as have had a bad reaction to the atibiotics i been taking.

morning all, wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i can make out of the chord that you make with a french knitting doll.
been trying to get my mam, back into knitting to give her something to do, as she has no hobbies, she is struggling with the knitting, but loves using the french knitting doll, and i would like to make something out of it

    thanks

Morning Shaz. I remember the knitting doll I had as a little girl suggested sort of coiling it into slippers. I'm afraid I don't remember exactly how but that the cord gave a nice cushiony sole. I never did it though. Glad your mum is enjoying it.

    Morning all,

Shaz - what about funky jewellery! -or flowers, (use florists wire to stiffen enough to hold shapes/stems), egg cosies, I'm sure I once made a tea cosy a very very long time ago.

My feet have recovered from yesterdays shopping trip. I did a nice boob job last night - looks like a blancmange with a strawberry on top!:rotfl:and a couple of hats. I think I might be getting a tiny bit obsessed with hats & finding different patterns. Hmmm!

Tried to start a sleeping bag but I get confused with the stitch markers - might have to write it down by row with number of stitches.

Its a lovely bright morning here, but very breezy. Off to see Mum later, got her some bright red wool to cheer her up.

    'bye for now

    luv :smileyhea

  • Morning all. Prfungi - just finished your lovely mock cable blanket - I'm really pleased with it. A nice easy pattern to follow and it feels warm and snug. Think I might have to do another one!!
Started a pair of adult mittens on Tues for the LH challenge and - don't you just love it - ran out of wool and don't have any in the stash that matches. So that means another trip to Wilkinsons for more wool. Can I just buy the one ball that I need? - probably not.
    Wish me luck.

  • Is it still morning? I had such a busy day yesterday I didn't manage to even log on and catch up with everything.

Oh Pam I am so sorry to hear of your poor cat. The bit about the sleeping bag and getting confused - hey that's me I got a lovely wee cardigan pattern and I only needed to pay attention for about 8 rows - could I even do that NOPE - I tried with a pencil and paper, then got interupted, ripped out and start again, then the phone went - ripped up and start again, then I just lost the plot, so gave up and started on buntings instead. I have sent away for some row counters, as mine are lost in a bag somewhere with some wool. Perhaps then I can start that wee cardi and manage to get past the rib, even if I have to lock myself away in a room to achieve it.

Maytaurus that lobster was lovely, I may even have to have a bash at it, I did read on a web site somewhere that Alison Murray is doing a seascape for the RNLI and feel I should support them a wee bit more, appart from sending my DH to sea on a regular basis. So I shall have a trawl (ha ha) on the net (OH no) and see if I can find details of the project.

Mrs Money Penny I have come across a few pairs of jeans belonging to my DH and wondered about converting the legs into Puffin P E bags, do you think that this idea is worthy of an attempt, or should I just dump them?

Hope your are all having a good day, regardless of the weather. Kathy is hoping to get her internet connection some time today, so perhaps we will all hear from her later - fingers crossed then.
