Maytaurus!! Very, very glad to see you back here, but so sorry that you've been feeling so bad. Remember to rest up, even when you're feeling good!

I haven't done any knitting for the last couple of days, my hand is feeling damn sore just now so I'm giving it a little rest.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Hi natty68, you could adjust your pattern to allow for DK but its not straightforward.

Hey Pam, you'll probably know a lot better than me, but perhaps if natty reduced the needle size it would be ok on DK?

Lovely to see you back Maytaurus!

I must confess to not knowing a good deal about ME, though I was in hospital with a girl who was a sufferer at just 29 and she'd been through hell. That was way back in 1987. Anyway, I've added my name to the petition and hope it achieves what's needed, the powers that be to sit up and take notice! Then DO something real to benefit you all.

Another square finished today even though we had our GKiddies with us while mum and dad shopped. While I was knitting the eldest 14 said "I'd like to learn one day." I'd taught her when she was young, but it all soon went to make way for all other delights in a child's life. However, later today I casually asked "did you mean what you said about learning again?" "Yes!" was the swift response, so the rest of the afternoon was spent in casting on, plain and purl and she thoroughly enjoyed it all and is coming back tomorrow (today)!

What a joy it is to pass such a wonderful and relaxing hobby on, and who knows how much she 'may' make in her life, lots I hope. Just thought I'd share this with everyone as it's so good to keep the art alive.

If it hadn't been for you Aeshna, I'd possibly not have thought of knitting again ..until perhaps in my dotage! So thanks so very much, I really appreciate your words on the other site a couple (or more) weeks ago.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

    Sue

    Sorry that you have M.E.
It’s stopped me from doing all the physical things I really loved doing, especially having to give up my horse riding
But fingers crossed I & all other peeps who have it will get better one day soon

thanks for passing the petition on

I do try now ( or rather don’t really have a choice anymore, cos it just totally wipes me out)
But it’s such a joy if I have a day when I can do something a little more energetic than most
If I didn;t do the knitting & crochet I think I’d go nuts(well ... even more nuts anyhow!)

    Sue-UU
I hope you & your granddaughter get lots of pleasure from the knitting
I’m so glad my mum taught me, she was a fabulous knitter, although of course she has lost that pleasure with the dementia & Alzheimer’s
I did quite a lot of knitting when my children were young, but like you, hadn’t done any for ages and then saw this thread
Thank goodness Kathy started it !
I hope all is going to plan for her

morning all, what a lovely morning it is too.

pam - when we go back out to france its all work again - although my dad and brother are both builders, i must say i dont have much faith in the rest of them! it is so frustrating leaving people to get on with stuff and when you go out there - guess what, its not done. i therefore have to be out there to be mrs cross : ( and have to chivvy them along (in my very poor french).

however, hopefully this time they will make less mess and i will be able to spend more time knitting and less time cleaning!

oh well, off to clean and tidy again so that hopefully some lovely person will buy our house in london so that we can go and live the good life in france.

    have a lovely day all

I'm not very good at chit chat, but I just wanted to say it's nice to see you back Maytaurus, you've been much missed. Hope you're feeling better now, and your mum is ok too.
Your pictures always make me smile, they are brilliant, I don't know how you find them all.
