Well it was what I thought it was and I am so excited (can you tell) and if truth be told a bit weepy as well, but with tears of joy :D

As some of you know DS2 and DIL cant have children, so they decided to go through the adoption route. It has taken so long and they jumped through every hoop that was put in front of them, and as we will be the main baby-sitters we had to have CRB checks done by the police, so we now have certificates saying we are official baby-sitters with no criminal records.

They went before the panel while we were on holiday and were approved, so now, and heres the good bit.........they were matched with a lovely little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes like DS2, just 1 year old.
So now we have a little grandson and he is sooo cute, a bit timid so we have to take it slowly.

Just to see DS2 and DIL with him brings tears to my eyes. If anyone was made to be parents they were.
Sorry for being off topic but I am so happy for them.

Kathy - you can uncross your fingers now. I think maybe you had an inkling what I was hoping for didnt you
Off for a look through the redicut link K2tog posted earlier for little boy patterns and wool.

enjoy the rest of the day everyone

[quote psso ]Would it maybe be knit one behind - ie knit into the back of the stitch instead of the front - to give a wee bit of pattern ? or am I having one of my `daft` moments ?

Pippa, congratulations - wishing you many happy years together.

Jean - thanks for the hot water bottle tip - i dont think i have any space left in my luggage, so i plan to stop on the way from the airport and get one - wont be any way to get hot water until wednesday (unless i beg from the neighbours, who are very kind), but i would like the heat!

shelly - i posted a small package to you today, but forgot to put my name in it, so i wrote it on the back, its about 8 buntings and 48 squares - it should come through on monday.

well, its time for a knitting break and a cup of tea!
