morning all
maytaurus welcome back, sorry to hear youve been suffering with your ME, i hope your current good spell lasts. my hat was about the size of the picture you posted but it was chunky blue marl wool (not really a popular rastafarian colour i dont think) you always find such brilliant pictures and manage to make me smile whenever you post
update from me
2 buntings
3 arron squares
2 choirboy creme egg ducklings
not sure how much knitting or puter time ill get over the weekend, my sister is coming round tomorrow so i need to tidy this afternoon.
Im trying to sort out my stash and use the started balls up to make it a bit more organised. I need to do 2 sackboys, a baby cardi for a very expectant friend, finish youngest DS school jumper (before the weather gets any warmer or he wont need it) and i have a scarf started from wool that was given me by LH so i MUST finish that for the latest challenges. oh and then there pulling bits in for shelly in between all those projects.

Hellsbells - looked at the pattern - its lovely - did a test square & the instructions really don't match up at all. I think I recognize the picture as "blackberry stitch or similar - going to check out some books & will get back to you

Wow, Maytaurus - what a fantastic post! How long did it take you? Lots of links, a lovely photo of my 'local' wool shop (I've been in there but it's very expensive!). It looks lovely and inviting, though, doesn't it? And I really should help the local economy, so I will definitely be making a visit there again! I love the photo of 'me' - looking so chic (you should see me now, old jeans and an old t-shirt!), and all the other pics are brilliant - you really know how to find them! I'm so sorry you've been unwell and glad that you are feeling a little better today. ME must be a horrid thing to live with, so (((hugs))) to all those who have it.
Pippa - fingers crossed then!
DPixie - have a great trip! The best bit of advice I can give you is to start packing now - whenever you expect to be moving! There is so much to do, especially moving from one country to another and I really don't think we'll get it all done in time. Mind you, what doesn't go in the truck will be stored in DS2's garage and collected when we bring our trailer (which is currently in France) back in the truck - at least that's the plan. We leave with the truck on Saturday, then come back on Monday (we'll be homeless here then, so we'll take the nighttime ferry!), leave the truck and pick up our car, after hitching the trailer to it. The logistics are scaring me to death!
I love the dragon pattern and the colours that were used to make it.
Well, back to the grindstone - I have to keep stopping to do things like hang the washing out (lovely day here) and think about other domestic delights.
Have a great day, everyone.
Oh, by the way - we leave the UK on Saturday 21st March; the internet is organised but an engineer has to come out to connect it all, and we can't do that until we've been back to the UK to bring the truck back. We have scheduled the engineer for Thursday 26th March. As long as nothing goes wrong, I should be back on line that day - fingers well and truly crossed!

Kathy do you want to post a message saying when you are doing your last update before leaving the shores and then post again when you are back up and running so we save our updates for you instead of you having to trawl through a weeks worth of posts totting them up.
just wondering what would be easiest for you.
Shelly im hoping to post a package off to you this afternoon if i can find my brown paper, nothing exciting mostly Squares for Aaron and some buntingsSPC~12 ot 124

Great to have you back.....yep no point in trying to dust when there is only me and a couple of dogs around eh.
Regarding chic in France.......I would just like to say in my neck of the woods .it's calving at present - so its full Demart underwear(other brands are available) boiler suit and wellies, any daft hat you find knocking about plus the first jacket you come to on the way out the door, regardless of who owned it previously or the fit of the thing............. I feel that the killer 6" heels just might be a bit of a hinderance................chic it ain't!
Oh Miolliere is certainly not telling fibs about the wool shops, they are VERY expensive for rubbish wool, but then if you all bought her a ball of wool and came to visit she could provide the chat and the wine for you...........good scheme or what?
dpixie - pack the hot water bottle as well as the long johns......essential at present
no knitting but 2 F and 1 M calves - no I didn't knit them either, away for a kip to catch up.The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

and the bigger 'holey' blanket was posted by Lou on Loving Hands a while ago, the photo is near the bottom of page 4 of this thread
http://lovinghands.freeforums.org/summer-donations-t197-45.html
and the pattern is (quoted from Lou):
Cast on 108 sts on 4mm needles then the first 9 rows are just garter stitch then switch to 6mm needles and every row is just k1 (yfwd k2tog repeat to end) repeat that row till you have done 22 inches then switch back to 4mm needles and garter stitch another 9 rows then cast off.Loving knitting for the Wooligans! :j my totals:
