HI jjessa,
Have you had a look at Heathrow Connect tickets? i've also been looking for cheaper train tickets to Heathrow and found this but i'm not sure of the service.
Has anyone else travelled from Paddington to Heathrow with Heathrow Connect rail service? The trainline says Heathrow Connect train is a 25min journey for £7.90 instead of 15 min Heathrow Express train for £16.50/£18. Is 25 min an accurate estimate and do the trains run on time or regularly?
any feedback much appreciated

All depends which LHR Terminal you are going to.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

i'll be going to LHR T3 and need to be there by 5.45am-6am latest!0

The time table is at https://www.heathrowconnect.com
Don't forget the walk from the station to the check in desk can be long at T3, so the 04.42 heathrow connect from Paddington may just get you there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
TTT10 worked well for me on the Stansted Express this last weekend but just a word of caution - the Stansted Express trains are utterly awful. Tatty old rolling stock, dirty with bits of trim falling off. Your First Class upgrade with the above discount code affords you a little more legroom and not a lot else as the First Class section - 20 seats in the middle of the train - is just as tatty as the rest. No one checked the tickets on board anyway, though I guess it's possible that there would be checks on some services. Quite how National Express (which operate the service) justify the huge fares is, well, they don't have to justify them, do they? They have a monopoly on rail travel to Stansted and despite the squalor it is still better than getting the Terravision bus.
By the way, you don't have to be a TTT Moneycorps customer to use the code. You will pay the 2nd class fare at the online price of £26 return and the ticket will display the first class price of £44. It IS worth doing if only for the thought that you are getting something for nothing, even if that something is nothing much!0 -
Been looking for discount codes for the Heathrow Express and they appear to be as rare as rocking horse poo at the moment. You can get 14% off by booking through ANA (All Nippon Airways) but earlier discounts such as 15% off with Amex seem to have expired. A two for one offer was mentioned in another thread - that would be a BIG saving for a couple - but I can't find a link so fear that it might have expired as well. Does anyone think that as the summer period is over some new enticements might be on their way for the winter?
I know there are alternatives - Heathrow Connect takes just ten minutes longer with two trains an hour for half the price and of course the Tube using an Oyster Card is virtually free but the lure of a fifteen minute journey from Heathrow directly to the Executive Lounge at the Paddington Hilton is hard to ignore. :cool:0 -
Thanks for the Ana link, worked perfectly. I've been hunting through the Internet and couldn't find anything else valid (there are a few other offers but they require flight details). Need to get in to London in a hurry (or would use connect) so works out nicely, Cheers!0
