we are getting married next month, hopefully at the top of the strat tower at night, does anyone know what time the strip lights are turned on?
They usually come on about dusk or shortly before from what I can recall...
You can see sunset times by day here:

The Bellagio FountainsWe are thinking of .... with a night stop in Death Valley maybe,
however we did a night stop at Death Valley at the end of May, i flippin loved it!we got there around 6pm, and it was 40degrees!
there's only really 2 places to stay - Furnace Creek Inn, and Furnace Creek Ranch.
We stayed at the Ranch (which is lower down than the Inn) in a 'chalet' type affair and thought it was great - advise getting there later in the day (cos there's not much to do!), but we then spent the evening in the warm spring fed pool, and just had some scran from the restaurant and bought some beers from the shop and went back to our room...
I'm pretty certain it's below sea level (the golf course certainly is) and it's just an experience if nothing else!
i think i wrote more in my trip report - let me find it
edit: this is where we stopped:

(dont worry, the rooms have air conditioning!!!)
trip report here - (day 5) - doesn't really say much but any questions you have, just ask!

edit2: from what i gather, the Inn is very nice!! (but we couldnt stay there at the time as it was closed for refurbishing (or something))0 -

I'm going to Vegas using the cheap Expedia.au/NWA flights from Heathrow in May this year. I received an email yesterday from Expedia stating the flight is with Delta now and the plane has changed from an A330 to a Boeing 767. I know the A330s had a good entertainment system. Does anybody know what Delta offer in service and entertainment?
ThanksThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
this may sound like a daft question, but do you think 2 weeks is too long to spend in Las Vegas?0

I don't expect many people on here will say so. There's certainly enough to keep you going, we never get round to doing everything we plan to. The good thing about having 2 weeks, is you won't feel like you need to cram everything in, you can do things at a sensible pace and really enjoy yourselves.0 -

Absolutely not! We will be staying for 37 days in May and then another 35 days in October. But then we are addicts.
We try to go twice a year for as long as we can manage, and we STILL haven't done everything there is to do, because there is always something new to see or do. BTW we gamble very little. There are many other things to do. You can spend a full day exploring some of the hotels and still not see everything.0 -

Agree with the others - absolutely not too long...for us...there are things we planned to do 7+ years ago and going at least once, sometimes 3 times, each year we still haven't gotten around to all of them.
But I know people who have gone to Vegas and thought 3 nights was too long because 'there wasn't anything to do other than gamble'. Which makes me roll my eyes until they almost get stuck...why go somewhere without doing even the first bit of research to see what there IS to do? Of all places, to say there's nothing to do, Vegas cannot be one of them. And I know some (some who have posted here) who thought a week was plenty and by the end were ready to get home. Most people in the US go for 3 or 4 nights and think that longer is too long...of course they don't have the very long flight to take into account.
It's been suggested here a few times that going for that sort of time gives you a chance to do something like a side trip to the Grand Canyon and stay the night there on a Friday or Saturday to save on Vegas hotels on the weekend...very good idea it seems to me...it's not just Vegas proper, but other things that are relatively close that can keep you occupied for ages.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
This is not good news!! I am one of those flights as well. It has been discussed on flyertalk, and seems the seat width in Y is 18" compared to 22" on the A330 which is a very nice aircraft. Those 767's are not the best planes in the world at the best of times, really don't fancy 8 hours in one.
Blimey Stoneman...Doesn't sound good does it. Have you got a link to the discussion on Flyertalk?0 -

Each to their own of course, but for me the longer the better and I have been 7 times. I normally go for 2 weks and wish it was longer.0
