Whats this about fuel? you have to go to the counter first at all stations??? and say how much you are going to put in? I wouldn't have the first clue about it???

Also guys.... flying with BA from Heathrow, when does online checkin open before the flight? and whats the wwebsite URL to do this exactly? We booked through opodo so will online checkin accept our booking ref?

    thanks again!
If you give them about $35 that is plenty to fill up a large family car. Also don't forget to get a receipt. Some of the rental companies ask for this to confirm that you filled up within 10 miles of the depot. You will actually find this as a condition on some rental agreements
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

It's about an hour and a half to 2 hours outside Vegas near Barstow . Stoped there about 4 times now, really old fashioned diner.
    Here you go

Also, for anyone heading over to Yosemite from Vegas, don't miss out on this place:

Super food, not your usual gas station fare.

    Hi,

I'm finally going to Vegas in April !! Going around the 25th to May 2nd and was wondering if anyone knows of any good deals ?

Seems with Expedia direct flights and staying somewhere like Paris or Caesar's for about £616 per person for 2 of us.

    Sound about right ?

    First time for us !!
Welcome to the clan, guarantee it won't be your last trip. In fact I bet that within 1 month of you being back you will be hunting down flights again. You poor, poor soul.
Just follow the links on the first post to look for deals. as a rule it is usually better to book the flights and rooms separately. If you see a price for a room on expedia you can bet it will be cheaper going direct to the hotel, and you will only have to pay the first night deposit and the remainder when you check out

    Welcome to the thread !

Check out the 'flight only' prices on www.Kayak.co.uk first, then you will know how much you are actually paying for the accommodation. I've just had quite a good deal through Expedia, but sometimes they do work out expensive compared to booking flight and hotel separate.

Also, as others will say, the beauty of booking the hotel directly is you can normally cancel without penalty if you see a better deal later on.

EDIT: Just had a look for those dates - assuming from London, direct flights are £420 each, and you can get a week in the Wynn for £717 through Expedia. That works out at £85 a night for the hotel part, which, including a weekend, seems pretty good to me.

thanks for the report Froggittt. We always use the back roads off the strip as well, you never see a Cali plate there. Thanks for the heads up on not allowing the deviders to be lifted, that has made our mind up not to travel upper with VS again. where oh where did they ever get that seat configuration from!!
Aren't those classic rooms the pits. No door on the toilet or bathroom, and it's right next to the entrance door as well. Really surprised you didn't get an upgrade, we have had one every time we stayed there, even put us in a classic for one night s there was no room, then moved us the next.
We really like the Luxor now, it's a million times brighter than it used to be!!(so you can imagine) I stayed there when they used to have the boat ride around the inside.
As for food on the I15, we always stop at Peggy Sue's dinner about an hour or so outside Vegas. they do Lemon Meringue pie and malts to die for.

My brother LOVES Peggy Sue's! We are going there next week to see Shirl the waitress!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just as a reminder to everyone with a Total Rewards card. Make sure when looking for prices at Harrahs properties you do it while signed in to your account. I was just looking for accommodation for our May trip and book a Go room at flamingo for $540 for 6 nights, a saving over the same room of $160 when not logged in.

I read somewhere it is down to about $1.8 a gallon. It was about $3.50 earlier last year.

Wow, that's cheap. Last August, we went past the official 'most expensive gas station in USA', pretty sure it was almost $6 per gallon.

Im off to watch oasis in mancheter and im planning on going to the 365 to sign up!

When at the MGM in OCt we signed to the players club. When I tried to log in at home im not properly registered to look at the account and it tells me to call them. Is it worth the call to america, i mean will they bother offering me any deals based on my low roller play there?
