Just to help anyone going in May, we were having trouble finding good deals for May most usually run up to April.

However we have now got a couple of nights in Bally for $36.00 per night.... seems like an amazing price to me.....

Oh dear I can resist anything except temptation it seems
Easter weekend-flying Good Friday -for 4 nights. Flight £330 from Heathrow (including tax) and at the moment 4 nights at the Flamingo is $240 plus taxes (weekends $75 & midweek $45 min stay 4 nights) so £840 for the two of us or £420 each. Hotel is (of course)-refundable but I think I'll be pushed to better that price.
    Well chuffed :)

I am also flying on Good Friday, Virgin from Heathrow to San Fran, 2 days there, then over to Vegas for 6 days

If anyone is flying with Virgin from Heathrow on Good Friday morning, I can guest 1 person into the clubhouse.

Oh my word, I know so little!!! Whats a player card and freebies???

Hey - Trets, maybe that's a topic that could be added to the guide? I'd be happy to help (though know nothing about players clubs as they relate to table games).

Players club cards are basically loyalty cards (similar to Boots, Nectar, Tesco, etc) and you earn points based on how much you gamble...points can be redeemed for food, hotel rooms, show tickets, etc...and sometimes the clubs reward players with a reduced room rate, free rooms, invites to tournaments, etc. At most clubs how much you win or lose has no impact on the points you earn it's just based on how much money you run through (there are exceptions - there's at least one club that is or used to be based on coin-out - the more you won, the more comps you got...how odd).

It's free to join, many times you get something free for joining (usually not terribly exciting, but hey - free stuff is free stuff)...most casinos are part of a larger group so you can only sign up at one in their group - so pays to check freebies for each casino and pick the one that's best for you.

I personally believe everyone (with the possible exception of low-stakes table game players) should join and use their cards...you never know what you may get for it...I know several people who got a free night at Wynn after playing $20 or less in their casino (in one case winning $100)...and many who go the 3 nights at Encore offer. Since it's free to join, if you're going to gamble at all you may as well try it.

Wow - so that's 3 of us flying from LHR on Good Friday...how funny.

I wonder if my husband would miss me if I snuck off to the clubhouse with penny? :)

If times worked should plan to meet up at Starbucks or somewhere central...though you would all then see that I am a totally paranoid traveller..not scared to fly, not at all...but airports totally stress me out from the time we leave for the airport to the time we're actually boarding...I'm always sure something will go wrong - security will take hours, we'll miss boarding, there will be a cancellation, something...until my bottom is in the seat I'm a bit of a wreck.

honestly at the moment I would stay away from the Monte Carlo, as mentioned by quite a few people there is building noise from the surrounding properties and yes you do hear some of it in your room, especially the siren at 3:30 am

Was there last week, and the first night I thought it was a one off, second night realised the issue third night changed rooms

So going back to the question TI and MGM are good, Monte Carlo stay away from for a while,

    (This is my opinion!)

So looking at the totals on the top of the page, I am staying in Rio in a couple of weeks, and obviously from the scoring I should give!

Rio Masquerade show in the sky

    a wide birth!

Or has anyone got anything good to say about it?

we did it and it was fun enough (if you mean riding in one of the floats)...we did it before the revamp so there are more floats running now than when we did it...we did have a voucher for 2 free tickets (was in our room at Ballys) but even at $14.95 or whatever it is, it's a different thing to do...they give you a tambourine to play, but you don't throw beads (and the tambourine is tied to the inside of the float lest you throw it and kill someone, I suppose!)

Plus, for the guys, you get very good views of the very fit dancers on your float. ;)

I just think that relative to the spectacle of other things in Vegas it doesn't top many people's list.

We have several HET comp nights in May this year. Granted, it's only at Imperial Palace, but we had reduced rates for Rio and Flamingo too. We play very little in comparison to others, but almost always on the one card (mine).

I would definitely recommend signing up for a Harrah's card when you're at Paris. You can then ask at checkout about having you bill reduced. You never know if you don't ask.

I think I should note that looking at our 2008 win/loss statement from HET, we certainly lost more than it would have cost to pay for the rooms...but since gambling is something we like to do and find entertaining, we may as well get some benefit for it...we don't play for free rooms, but we get free rooms because we play.

I don't think anyone should play for comps...they'll likely cost you more than you would have paid in the end...but if you're going to play anyway, may as well take what they'll give you. :)

ok worth it for the 'very fit dancers' on the float then!

I will let you know what it is like in a couple of weeks.

    Morph3us, good price for Bally's

It's off-strip so most people here who have been to Vegas have never seen it to rate it.
